Mysore is situated at 140kms from Bangalore. Foreign tourists have to pass through Bangalore to go to Mysore. The most convenient airport in India to fly to is Mumbai (Bombay) and from there, take a domestic flight by Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, *Kingfisher Airlines, Deccan Air*etc. to Bangalore. Regular train services operate from Bangalore to Mysore. Government transport buses and private buses ply between Bangalore and ... ...(The Centenary Express), and reached Mysore at 13-00 hrs on the 14th April, 2001. Well , I live in Mysore city and am a proud citizen of this BEAUTIFUL city and allow me to tell you more about this fantastic little city! So, I was just born in pune but have lived all of my life in mysore.I have visited almost all the big cities of India but not yet seen a city like this. Let me tell you more about this city.

3) Mysore Palace - It was the palace where the Wodeyars used to live. Its huge. Though all of the palace is not shown to you , it will take you atleast a few hours to see the whole palace. you can see the wonderful wood work and the weaponry and the stuff the royals used to use.

I did stay in MYSORE for a few years. But you have to remember that India is a different place & with a rich culture.Its just 3.5 Hrs journey by train or bus from Bangalore City. Don’t kinda develop a headweight or you won’t enjoy your stay. Try to mix with the locals, a simple namaskar or a Ram Ram will do the job. But be careful ‘bout bribes , cos that’s one thing that’s actually bothers tourists but the situation ... ...the places of visit in Mysore . The prices I’ll mention will be in Indian rupees----

...( to be booked in mysore forest dept office ). It also has a few private resorts ( Bangalore based ) that are affordable and decent enough for a short stay. It is advisable to book accomodation well in advance especially in holiday season and weekends as many a Bangloreans consider Bandipur to be a weekend getaway.The drive from Hunsur town just outside Bandipur to Mudumalai ( tamil nadu ) via bandipur offers exhilarating experience with many a herds ... ...of encountering the wildlife on the drive itself. Karnataka forest dept offers jungle safaris in closed vans for a small fee in the morning and evenings.The safari ride did not satisfy me as the van is too crowded and the van itself is totally covered. For a fee of around Rs 1750 ( 1$ 46.5 Rs approx ), an open Jeep safari is available for the serious wildlife buffs which is really worth the bucks.

...a DHABA is in the evenings after dark, when it is cool. These have become popular with families too as the food is delicious and the surroundings spacious and cool.
If you happen to visit Hyderabad in the month of January, you must visit the HYDERABAD EXHIBITION, this is an outdoor exhibition which takes place once a year throughout the month of January. Here, merchants and vendors from all over India come to sell their exhibits, from Indian Silks, Handicrafts from Mysore, ornaments, Kashmiri Carpets, Jewellery from Rajesthan etc etc. “Haggling” is a must here, infact it is compulsory it’s all part of the fun!
Hyderabad exhibits a varied geography with many Hill ranges e.g. Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills; these are beautiful residential areas with an interesting mixed array of modern influences on house architecture...
