and whisked me off to Utrecht, which on arriving at the Utrecht station, was announed in English and had signs a plenty.
I stayed in the NHUtrecht Hotel, which although maybe a bit pricey for a tourist (I was on buisness so didn't worry too much) would be a thoroughly recommended place (apart from the price of their internet connection!) as they have the best breakfast buffet you can immagine!
Anyway, in and around the city:
It was easy to navigate quickly away from the central area littered with offices, concrete buildings and the trainline, to the old areas next to the canal where you can find a beautiful spot to have a 3 course meal for 22euros. Again, on determining that you're English, the waiters and waitresses easily swap their language over to accomodate.

We had immense trouble deciding on a hotel for my husband's birthday break in Amsterdam. We're trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't too shabby and in a decent location. After reviewing all the options, we went for the NH City Centre, if only because of it's 1920's styling and proximity to town.
We were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely with each room finished beautifully, if you like the modern thing (and we do!). The overall atmosphere is very calm and serene.
It took us forever to find the hotel, but that may have been because I insisted, as I had been to Amsterdam a couple of times before, that finding our way around would be easy, we could walk there and we didn't need a map. This Review is for the Centre M.K which is a huge shopping centre in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
The shopping centre is managed in two parts, the first being the Centre MK and the second a place named Midsummer Place.
The actual opening date for the shopping centre was September 25th 1979 and has over 260 stores inside. This might have changed quite a lot since the current recession and stores shutting down.
This will be an insight to what the centre has to offer and what you can find there.
