Advantages: Close to town, Quiet, Nice rooms Disadvantages: Expensive bar
...We had immense trouble deciding on a hotel for my husband's birthday break in Amsterdam. We're trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't too shabby and in a decent location. After reviewing all the options, we went for the NHCity Centre, if only because of it's 1920's styling and proximity to town.
We were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely with each room finished beautifully, if you like the modern thing (and we do!). The overall atmosphere is very calm and serene.
It took us forever to find the hotel, but that may have been because I insisted, as I had been to Amsterdam a couple of times before, that finding our way around would be easy, we could walk there and we didn't need a map. About an hour later we finally found the back of the hotel, exhausted from dragging our suitcases up and down a zillion canals. It IS...

Advantages: all inclusive resort Disadvantages: many tournaments on weekends
...Austria´s Capital cityVienna has offered only two golf courses until 1995: the GC Wien Freudenau 18 hole course and the Wienerberg 9 holes.
Although there are several courses within an hours drive, Vienna lacked a decent golf resort which it finally got, when former agricultural grounds in the northern suburb of Süßenbrunn were transformed into an 18 hole championship-course (Par 72) with an adjoining public compact-course with 6 holes (all Par 3) and possible 18 tee-boxes...
The GC Danube layout is similar to Irish links courses like Ballybunion, the "dunes" consist of dugout material from the 9 small lakes that serve as irrigational ponds, the rough along the manicured fairways can be a real hazard for occasional slicers and hookers. What it truly shares with Irish or Scottish links courses is a gusting northwesterly wind...

Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff. Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral
...and coffee making facilities, a brilliant view looking out at the city, and a clean en-suite. I paid around £110.00 per night (Bed and Breakfast) and thought that the hotel offered good value accommodation for the amount charged.
The hotel is located in central Vienna, however, in order to get to the central shopping district it is about a ten minute walk, which I didn't mind, although it was hot (as I visited Vienna in July). Vienna itself is a wonderful city and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone, the locals are very friendly and are happy to help if you are stuck, there is plenty to do (good shopping facilities, great coffee shops, restaurants, are galleries, the Cathedral is well worth a visit and very dramatic, located just outside the centre of Vienna is the "Prater" which is a funfair with a number of rides and a giant ferries...
