For all potential guests here be aware that there are mixed reviews about this place on other sites. Having read many of them I can honestly say that they were accurate on the part of good reviews, and petty on the part of the negative reviews. Each to their own experience though.
I took my fiancee to this hotel for a Valentine's weekend break, and we thouroughly enjoyed our 3 days in Brussels. Starting with the initial feel of the place we felt it was a good choice. We opted for a cheap rate with breakfast deal. We chose well! Upon our arrival late on a Friday evening we were greeted by 2 very pleasant young ladies on reception who were most helpful, and English speaking for those of us lacking the skill or inclination to converse in either native French or Flemish tongues.
As it was a 'special' deal, I hadn't expected a great room, but again pleasantly surprised by a decent sized room with twin bed pushed together and very comfortable. The room was cold, but then we simply put an extra layer on and switched the heating on. We went for a walk and came back an hour later to a warm room. Many reviews complained about the cold rooms, but hey come on. Heating an empty unused room is wasteful. I think it's better just to heat it when you turn up, it doesn't take long!
The bathroom was lovely, clean, bright and functional. A pleasure to use after a day of traipsing around the city. However, a negative point is that our air vent in the bathroom ceiling would occasionally emit stale cigarette smoke from somewhere. It must've been extracted somewhere else, and somehow backed up in our vent. The hotel is investigating such is their level of service, so no sleep lost.
Breakfast is a western style buffet with the usual beverages, juices, breads, pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses, preserves, fruits, etc. I wouldn't pay for it, if it was an extra, but as part of our deal it was well worth it. We loaded ourselves up each morning with hearty breakfasts that would see us through to our evening meals out in the city, with only a modest 'Croque Monsieur' for luch to fill the gap.
Did I mention the 2 ladies in reception? Yes, well they were fab. They were very helpful with queries, and just generally very nice people that would greet you. Gold stars to them both. All in all a great value for money place when booked as a deal, and very close to all of the touristy places but far away enough from the noise.
Sweet dreams zzzzzzzz

Never been to Brussels but I would certainly consider this hotel after reading your review. Shame about the cigarette smells but I suppose we can't have everything perfect lol! Nice review. Carol x
