Who stays for several days and nights in Barcelona, he needs, is not private or has found accomodation in the youth hostel, a hotel. Because the supply was big for October and we did not know the town, the choice and the decision were difficult for a certain hotel!
Our criteria
Central position - because we were only four days in the town was that our main criterion. To reach transport-technically well - already at home we had found out about the possibilities with metro and buses to be able to use them then also intensely. Four stars, but affordably - of course is also the aspect in price always an essential argument for one Hotel. Whether it was also inexpensive then, then this will show itself only behind.
Our hotel in Barcelona, Position
The supply of hotel NH Sant Angelo seemed to fulfil all our needs and to anticipate it, we were not disappointed.
It lies in de cent, in 74 about five to ten walking minutes from the Placa
Espanya in the Consell. This is pleasant especially when one "arrives" of the airport by the bus of the urban transport services (No. 46) in the stop there in Barcelona!
Past the building site of the " Arenas de Barcelona ", the former bullfight arena it is altered to the shopping centre, and one is quick to the Parc Joan Miro, there. Nevertheless, we need a little longer because in the latter us arrange Boolespieler in the absorbing competition for staying. Also the mentioned building site is absolutely worth seeing to receive there, in order the whole old round facade, this by Hebevorrichtungen virtually stabilizes in the air floats.
But also for road traveler it is to be reached from central station Estació de Sants, even if far away, on foot.
The Consell de cent is rather a smaller side street which runs in parallel with " grain via Corts Catalanes " more than several kilometers. Besides, it is certainly no quiet street. On the contrary, at the rush hours the traffic also raves here.
The hotel offers only overnight stay with breakfast. Own restaurant company is not offered besides. Also in close environment one must search restaurants. It does not seem to be the area for it. Indeed, we discover in almost on every corner a small Tapa bar where we have become well full. Then there one can also spend properly money, because cheap Barcelona is not also in this regard!
One Room with breakfast
When we are entered our room 210 we, nevertheless, at first startled. It has no window to the street separate only to a roofed inner courtyard. The external magnitudes amounted (respectedly) just four times four meters. We experience one of the characteristics, the hotels in Barcelona for probably especially simple-minded guests hold ready. Who books no "habitaciòn exterior" (outside room), that probably lands automatically in "habitación interior", just to an inside room in the light well. It met our traveling with friends equally!
Still it is of course are sufficient decorated, including televisions and minibar. Besides, the double bed is probably suitable rather for a narrow Spanish married couple.
The bathroom itself is normally big, as well as one can expect it from a star hotel 4. From the magnifying mirror up to the blow-drying, toilet, bidet and shower-bath everything exists. The everyday towel change claps freely from problems, Kleenex, spare toothbrush and shower utensils are filled in according to demand.
After only short consideration we resign ourselves to this "special" room. A change in a bigger room seems to us not necessary, even if it became narrow at night now and again a little bit (my woman says). However, for the disabled persons who depend on a wheel chair it seems to us not suitable. Nevertheless, in addition the practicable "uncovered area" is too low.
The breakfast is taken on the first floor in a big and bright space between 07:00 to 12:00 o'clock in refreshment bar form. In corresponding weather a big terrace is included before it with. The supply in every morning compensates for all possible Mallessen of the night. Really freshly pressed orange juice, wide juices, passed away bread roll, scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage and Spanish ham offer a sufficient and tasty supply where everybody finds something. Coffee and tea become friendly, fresh and served enough at the table.
The staff
The hotel staff are service-oriented and, besides, always friendly. Our questions are answered competently. The reception is taken all around the night. During the day of our departure, our flight leaves Barcelona only about 18:00 o'clock, one offers us safe retention of our baggage in the close space.
Book entry
One books the Angelo NH Sant in the travel agency or even in the Internet. Under www.nh-hotels.de one needs to follow only the routine to be successful. The prices can be different according to season and circumstances. The hotel itself offers at the moment overnight stay without breakfast for the price from 61 euros on hotel-specific homepage.
My result
I recommend hotel Sant Angelo in Barcelona for a short trip in this town without restriction.
Who needs a bigger room than one so-called "inside room", should already point to it with his book entry. Unknowing like we, become evident (at reasonable prices?) there referred. Indeed, these rooms have no noise of the street.
The hotel as well as the room are very clean and do from the outset a good impression which been confirmed in the course of our stay over and over again.
The position, near the Placa d'Espanya and not far from the Placa de Catalunya, make it for a town visit of several days virtually brilliant. Several metro stations in the close vicinity do a remaining in addition.
All rooms are suitable with both elevators easily to reach and, hence, for disabled persons. However, the "inside rooms" might be suitable for wheel chair drivers, on account of the low base and uncovered area the same, only with restrictions.
