...HAMPSTEAD BRITANNIA HOTEL - LONDON On a weekend break to London we stayed at the Britannia. (But please note this is only a review of the hotel London review will follow) It's situated in the village of Hampstead about a ten minuet drive from the centre of London. (Actual address Primrose Hill Road, Hampstead, London NW3 3NA) Hampstead boasts designer shops and a great restaurant's but only being there for two days we didn't see much of the area we wanted to do the touristy thing in the city centre so we saw very little of Hampstead itself. A sort tube ride away is London city centre were there is so much to do, theatres, shows, Buckingham palace, London eye etc etc etc. the night life is ok. The hotel is a ten minuet walk from Camden which is full of pubs but when we went they were all full and not accepting any more people... Read review

Advantages: Something for everyone
Disadvantages: So large that many of the finer points are so easy to miss!

...London, the capital of England, is more than just a city – it is so diverse that to explain it in a small review is a nearly impossible task. The true city centre itself is even divided into many parts – like many of the largest cities in the world it has sections or quarters as the Americans would call them for many nationalities, and all are worth a look for the quirky services or theme bars or restaurants that they offer. Examples would include the Polish community which offers some interesting vodka noodle restaurants, or the large Portuguese community offering colourful bars and alternative music. Venturing into Leicester Square and Soho one finds the trendiest bars in the UK, and an unforgettable night out after an expensive day shopping is always on the cards. ...I went to this fantastic club for the ex's birthday towards the end of August-you know the scenario; its one of those 'look-what-you're-missing-and-what-you'll-never-have-again' opportunities so, in true Elvy style, I wasn't gonna miss this for the world.... 'Of course I'll be there...where is it? 'Wax Bar'? Where's that?' I'd never heard of this place before but then somebody told me it was the old 'Bar Madrid' and my heart sank. Now for all of you Ciaoers who go clubbing regularly in London, you will know that said 'Madrid' is the equivalent of a clubber's 'national joke.' YOu know how we joke about the Irish; well substiute 'Irish' for 'Bar Madrid' and you pretty much get the idea...Harsh? Well maybe. But back in the day this place was definately NOT the place in which any self-respecting fashionista would want to be seen... Read review
