Advantages: Good food, nice ambiance and quick service. No waiting around for the bill. Disadvantages: If you don't like chicken, the menu is pretty limited. Too spicy for some.
Ever since I first read about Nando’s, I’d been dying to try them out. Unfortunately, my nearest outlet was not close enough to make a visit all that practical. I was therefore delighted to learn that Nando’s were opening a unit at my local out of town cinema/restaurant complex. Although I didn’t quite make the opening night, I managed to get through the doors pretty soon after they first opened.
*** WHAT IS NANDOS AND HOW DOES IT ALL WORK? *** ... ...Portuguese theme originating from South Africa. However, if I had to sum Nandos up in one brief sentence, I’d describe them as posh Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC for adults. They serve mostly chicken dishes which have been marinated in a spicy Portuguese sauce known as Peri-Peri sauce. Peri-Peri sauce is a firey sauce made up of such ingredients as paprika, angostura bitters, vinegar, birds-eye chillis and garlic - the quantities of which can be ...

Advantages: reasonable prices, great tasting, informal Disadvantages: soooo spicy!
Nando's is a Portuguese themed restaurant chain that specialises in good-quality, well-cooked chicken, and is well known for it's famous Peri-Peri sauce. There are branches all over the UK, and new ones are regularly being opened. Right now there are restaurants due to open in 2 months in Fife, Colliers Wood and Walton-on-Thames, with other branches scheduled to open in 4 months and then 6 months. The one nearest to me is in Maidstone, and is the ... ...eaten in the outlet in Staines and near Elephant and Castle. I have found that in all the different branches, the layout and format is pretty much the same, but then as this is a chain you cannot really expect anything more.
On entering the restaurant a sign tells you to wait to be seated. There are usually many tables available, and these are usually quite well spaced out. I have never had to wait for a table, even when one time about eight of ...

Advantages: Can take as much or little time as you need for a delicious meal! Disadvantages: Sometimes lengthy queue's to get seated!
I've worked at a shoe shop in Bluewater for the last four years...so you can imagine how many lunch breaks I’ve spent wandering around wondering what to have to eat, so you'd think I would have sampled all Bluewater's restaurants, oh no! I must be the only Bluewater employee who hadn't tried Nando's! Through no fault of my own I’d like to add, its such a busy restaurant that if you go down there at a weekend or in the evening before the cinema it ... ...20 odd people ahead of you then you won't be eating there and given that I only have one precious hour of break I’m reluctant to spend it all in a queue!
I met a friend for lunch there a couple of weeks ago and thankfully there was no queues...after eating there I now understand why people are willing to queue, defiantly worth the wait!
Nando's Bluewater is situated in the lower Water circus; this is a section of Bluewater dedicated to restaurants, ...

Advantages: Peri-Peri chicken Disadvantages: If you hate spicy food-don't go!
Nando's is a Portuguese restaurant which serves Peri-Peri- chicken, side dishes, deserts and a few vegetarian dishes. As you can tell chicken is the main food on the menu.
There are a selection of restaurants around the country, I had my first taste of Nando's at Bluewater shopping Centre, loved it and found one at Castlegate Park in Dudley and have recently discovered there is a Nando's restaurant in my hometown of Wolverhampton (Queens Street), ... ...The mood is very casual, the menu has little jokes throughout, such as, under the vegetarian menu it says, Nando's loves vegetarians, all out chicken are vegetarian. Under the side orders it says-every chicken should have a sideline, but not necessary plumbing or decorating- may we suggest one of these. So as you can see it's really corny but that really sums up the casual atmosphere.

The food at Nando's is as I've already mentioned, ...

Advantages: Cheap as chips, but more interesting Disadvantages: Hmmm, only the irritating chain speak on the menu
I may be the only person I know never to have been to Nando until recently. I have now been twice in the past few weeks, both in London.
Basic info: Nando's is a Portuguese style chain restaurant, specialising (as you may have guessed) in chicken. You can get other meals, such as veggie burgers and steak, but the menu is certainly chicken-centric. Sides include chips, coleslaw, corn on the cob, and garlic bread. Starters, such as olives, houmous ... ...platters for groups to share.
There is a (limited) children's menu.
Alcohol is available. (Not to kids though).
Cost: Excellent value. You can, if you wish, get a square meal for a tenner, including alcoholic drinks.
A quarter chicken combo (with 2 sides) is £5.25. You can get combos with veggie burgers, chicken burgers and wings for a similar price. Larger meals e.g. the half chicken combo cost £7.75. Sides are £1.50-£3, if not part of a combo, ...

...to be a little faulty! There were male and female, and were downstairs so I am unaware as to wether there were any disabled toilet facilities. Im sure there will have been.
~Staff~
Very pleasant and all seemed to be genuine portuguese people, as this is a portuguese style restaurant. But when we asked we found out that the majority of them were actually from Poland! Strange.....!
They were all very efficient, and all friendly.
~Nando's clear of Sudan 1~
''February 2005 - Following recent news about product withdrawals by the Food Standards Agency we are pleased to tell you that all Nando's bottled sauces and restaurant sauces are clear of Sudan 1.
If you would like any further clarification on this issue, please email recipes@nandos.co.uk''

I think the vegetarian menu was a little on the small side and our seats...

Advantages: Good value, good atmosphere Disadvantages: Not if you're not keen on chicken
...admirably.
Nando's restaurants are springing up everywhere. A cursory glance at their web site indicates that they are all over the UK with just under 100 outlets in total. I've visited five different ones, three of which were in retail parks and the others were in city centres - but the principles remain exactly the same in all the diners. The company's intention is clearly about enjoying food and breaking with convention - there are indications of this in everything that they do. Their menus encourage you to share food, use your fingers, get messy and just enjoy the whole experience. Your food is brought to your table on platters and you all share from the same place. The restaurants are decorated in vibrant, wacky colours and there is an emphasis on "helping yourself" to sauces, drink refills, and ice cream. It's not surprising, therefore...

...restaurants can be bought in the restaurants or even in some high street stores such as tesco. However you can purchase them online at their own store which is at:
www.nandos.co.uk
At the website they also have recipes to try and other information that is quite detailed so it is worth checking this out.
Advance bookings and events:
Nando's don't really take advance table bookings as they are not that kind of place however if you have a really large group and are looking to visit on a day that would usually be very busy they can make arrangements to save a table for your group. Nando's also deal with outside catering for private events and this needs to be booked very far in advance. To arrange this you are best off contacting them to make arrangements.
Children:
Nando's believe that food for children should be enjoyable so they do...
