...My aunt from Sri Lanka who I last met when I was five years old told me that she is going to come to England. As we wanted to see each other she wrote me a text message, saying that she is going to stay in Stratford upon Avon. My boss is brilliant in English geography, so I asked her where Stratford is. She explained until I said I am going to Stratford upon Avon, which is of course somewhere else. In the end I found out that it is going to be a two hour drive. Samuel my boyfriend drove. We printed a map of the route from www.theaa.com and it was easy for me to lead the way. As it is a drive over the countryside, the two hours were gone in no time and we arrived. Advantages: cheap accomodation
Disadvantages: not in centre of town

...My husband gave me a birthday present of a weekend away at an Innkeepers Lodge in Wellesbourne Nr Stratford-Upon-Avon, we were arriving on Friday and staying until Monday morning. It was a buy two nights, get Sunday night FREE, with continental breakfast included. From the sound of it, I thought we were staying in rooms above a noisey pub! but I was wrong. Yes they were rooms about a pub, but it was more like a restaurant than a pub! "The Kings Head, Wellesbourne, Nr Stratford-Upon-Avon" - very pretty from the outside, with front and rear beer gardens with parasols, and a very large car park with includes spaces for disabled. The restaurant/pub area was lovely - it used to be a 16th century coaching inn, which from the outside you couldn't really tell, but from the inside you could - low wooden beams etc. It was lovely, and we... ...If you don't know by now I've just returned from holiday sailing around on a narrow boat around the Avon Ring for the past 2 weeks. One of our stop off points was the beautiful town of Stratford upon Avon. After mooring up our boat we decided to view the delights of Stratford - The Butterfly Farm being one of them, to be honest this is somewhere I didn't really fancy but my otherhalf did so I thought it would kill a couple of hours before we went for our lunch. The Butterfly Farm is the UK's largest butterfly farm and is situated less than 5 minutes walk from the town centre, less than 5 minutes walk from the canal mooring point both visitor and private moorings and less than 10 minutes walk from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
