I have to admit that until a branch of Nando's opened in Cambridge I had no idea that this was a chain restaurant. Our branch opened a few months ago, and what originally drew me to it was the board outside saying "Take home a hot bird tonight!" - yes, I know I'm female, but the very fact that they would advertise their food in this way made me want to go in. So a few weeks ago, I wandered down there with the boyfriend to check it out.

The first thing I noticed was that Nando's (well, the Cambridge branch anyway - I'm not sure about the others) is a non-smoking restaurant. It's very rarely that I go out and find a restaurant that is completely non-smoking, being a smoker it isn't that important to me, but I know that smokers can often irritate people ...

Advantages: Unique building, delicious food Disadvantages: Nothing major
..., but the price reflects this. If you want waitress service then opt for Bella Italia. The restaurant has a cosy feel with lots of rustic pans and a Mediterranean-feel warm orangey coloured décor. A nice restaurant, and handy for the Cinema and Grafton Centre shops, but not my favourite of the three restaurants.
Cambridge Leisure Park – This venue is home to the Junction, a music venue, Cineworld Cinema and Tenpin Bowling. There is also a DVD shop. It is also the site of the Cambridge Central Travelodge. In addition to this there are several restaurants: Pizza Hut, Chiquito, Frankie and Benny’s, a Chinese Restaurant, Nando’s and Bella Italia. With all that choice, I would say the main reason to visit the Bella Italia is that on a Monday they do 50% student discount with a valid student discount card, which is a massive saving and makes...

The Cambridge Belfry used to be owned by Marston but now it is Q and is there any difference? Well not much but some things were worse. Not quite in the league of fawlty towers but try having a hot shower! Well you can but only in the leisure area not... more
This DVD is outstanding. Originally a four-part BBC drama, it is a four hour set but nicely split up into four chunks of about 1 hour each.
Starting in Cambridge University, it follows the four characters before world war two and their bickering... more
