Napa Mermaid Hotel & Suites, Ayia Napa

Advantages: Variety of things to do and something for everyone, a great night out wherever you go
Disadvantages: The bar reps are very pushy, and prices can get expensive

...I've just come back from a holiday in Ayia Napa and want to give my opinion of the bars there. To start with, it's a really nice place. A small town in Cyprus, typically known for being a party lover's choice of holiday, you'd expect it to be full of English people throwing litter around, getting their boobs out and throwing up on street corners. This is completely wrong. Ayia Napa, when I went in early September, was full of a variety of people, not just youths wanting to drink lots. In the hotel we were staying in there were quite a lot of elderly people just wanting a relaxing break. There were people from all over the world too, and during my stay I heard German, French, Chinese, American, English and Irish accents. ...what they want!] However during the day there is a bus that runs all the way through Ayia Napa at 70c per journey! This also runs from Paralimini----> Ayia Napa waterpark for the same price! BARGIN! Water world is a must! Its Europes largest THEMED water park and has a wide variety of slides/pools and is great for a family day out, or if you just want to cool down somewhere other than the beach or pool. Cost to get in is approx £14-£16 cypriote, however vouchers for money off are available from reps, hotels, taxis etc and are worth getting! Nightlife is a big part of Ayia Napa... many themed bars are situated around the 'square' full of PR'S offereing free drinks to get you into the bars! These are good offers and give you a cheap night so take advantage of them! The castle club is the biggest club in Napa, housing 4 rooms... Read review

...When two of my friends decided to get married (to each other) in Ayia Napa Cyprus last year (September 2003) I jumped at the chance for a two week break away with them and 50 others to share in their big day. As someone who thought Ibiza was the clubbing capital Ayia Napa never really appealed to me, my two weeks there changed my mind completely. Hotel We actually stayed outside Ayia Napa in Nissi Bay, at an apartment complex called ?Stavrolia? (Nissi Bay is about a three minute taxi ride or twenty minute stroll from Ayia Napa) the apartments were very clean and spacious and the cleaners were regular and through in their duties, there were balconies in every apartment (two in mine).
