We've stayed at the Napoleon twice now and it just gets better and better! Any review is only ever as good as the impression it gives to the reader and how much information can be taken away from it. So let me give you a few facts about this gem of Roman hospitality. Firstly mention simply must be made of the staff because, bless 'em, they are probably what gives the Napoleon it's great, beating heart. English is more and more the lingua franca of the traveler these days and the visitor to the Napoleon will find that all the desk staff are pretty fluent. Not only do they speak the language, they do it with a smile and a "can do" attitude which is simply breathtaking. Rooms are kept spotless. Breakfast is inclusive and buffet style, you'll be attended by staff who are alert yet unobtrusive. Metro Line B is just outside the door and if you'd rather walk you're only 15 - 20 minutes away from the historic centre of Rome and only about half that from Termini Station. When you leave it's almost a dead cert that you'll want to return... that's certainly our experience.
The Hotel Napoleon offers its guests the advantage of a very central and well-connected location: St. Mary Major, St. John in Lateran, the Colosseum are only a few minutes away by foot, the entrance to the underground is right in front of the Hotel and in matter of minutes you arrive at the Spanish Steps and at the station \\\Ottaviano\\\". As a result of its distinctive structure, the Hotel Napoleon can boast a tranquillity perhaps unmatched in the historical centre. Indeed all the rooms look out onto large sunny courtyards from which it is impossible to hear any of the irritating sounds of the city. At the Hotel Napoleon you will find the friendly atmosphere you can find only in a family run hotel but even the elegance lounge, rich with antiques, the intimate bar and the small restaurant with its silver service and Flanders table cloths. Run for 41 years by the Cioce-Duranti family, The Hotel Napoleon welcomes you to a friendly atmosphere, with kind and attentive staff, together with the style and the glamour of a 4 star Hotel: the elegant lounges, rich with antiques, the intimate bar and the small restaurant. As a result of its distinctive structure, the Hotel Napoleon can boast a tranquillity perhaps unmatched in the historical centre."
