Narai Hotel Bangkok commands an ideal location on Silom Road at the heart of Bangkok\\\'s most important commercial and entertainment districts. In a luxurious ambience enhanced by exquisite traditional Thai decor, you\\\'ll be treated to the warmest reception and hospitality. You\\\'ll find your every desire catered to, beginning with luxurious and meticulously appointed accommodations. Then there are the elegant and high-tech function-reception hall, conference room, swimming pool, fully equipped fitness center and business center ready to provide consultation as well as full services.
Advantages: great for shopping, great customer services, large clean modern rooms Disadvantages: maybe a bit "out of reality" for those wanting to experience the real Bangkok
...Like the traveller on the previous review I was also unsure of what to expect about the Amari Watergate Hotel. We were offered a great deal with a travel agent with 2 nights for the price of 3, which for 3 nights in a 5 star hotel for £150 seemed criminal to refuse!
After making the booking we then checked out the hotel online and it looked great. We were not dissapointed.
The Amari is set in Bangkoks main commercial area with 3 of the largest shopping malls within walking distance (however, if walking in 95% humidity across frogger style traffic isnt your style a taxi to the furthest shopping mall - the Siam Centre is 40bahts (75p)
The hotel provided us with a free taxi from the airport which was clean and airconditioned and it whisked us away to the foyre of the hotel in about 40 minutes, we were received at the hotel...

Advantages: Good cheap hotel, good facilities Disadvantages: Odd location, under the expressway!
...This is a very good hotel if you are visiting Bangkok for a brief time. I mostly took trips from the hotel to the main tourist sights so did not walk into the main bit of the city from the hotel, if you did it was quite a slog, especially when its really hot.
The hotel itself was good, spacious, well air conditioned rooms with good bathrooms. The was tea/coffee making facilities aswell as a well stocked +cheap mini bar. The hotel had a safe room to put your valuables in for a small fee. The restaurant was good for breakfast...theres nothing better than cold thai green curry for breakfast!!
There is also a nice bar in the hotel lobby which is lovely to sit in, in the evenings if you dont want to wander to far, it often has live music/singers. If you do feel like venturing far, the hotel runs a taxi service or you can hail one...

Advantages: excellent food, good rooms, good pool Disadvantages: none really
...of the hotel isn't bad, you are right next to a decent shopping centre and a short walk from a few more of Bangkok's shops. Use a taxi, not a tuk-tuk - they could easily give you a heart-attack.
Room-wise, this hotel is also very good. The TV is ok, you get a few american sports and news channels. It was certainly clean and you were provided with useful things to borrow during your stay like dressing gowns, slippers etc. The views were also quite good of Bangkok, especially at night.
The general quality of service was good in this hotel, everyone tried to be helpful and was friendly so I have no complaints in that regard.
So all in all, I would strongly suggest to anyone going to Bangkok to strongly consider this hotel as my family and I really enjoyed our stay there....

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
I choose this hotel as a result of a special offer on 'asiarooms'. On arrival we were promptly shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff.
The Deluxe room was a lot bigger tahn other hotels I have stayed in. However, it did seem a little... more
