Fun for the whole family
Advantages fresh air, stretch the legs, explore something new
Disadvantages not enough publicity
For all the landlubbers out there, the National Trust has set up a series of Treasure hunts to promote the conservation of the coastline. I’ve been a member of the National Trust for years, but I hadn’t spotted this in the programme. We went along to one of the Treasure Hunts at Hughenden Manor and had a splendid time – the trail was not too difficult for even 5 year olds – and the kids enjoyed their booty for completing the course.
The event seemed very well organised, and it was nice to see a bit more of the ground that you might have done if you’d just come to see the house. All in all, a great day out, a bit of fresh air and a chance to stretch the legs.Take a picnic, or grab some tea at the National Trust locations
