Nazareth Gardens Hotel, Nazareth

...Nazareth has much history and is another tourist spot for pilgrims. I went there whilst on a tour in Israel, and as a Christian, was interested in where Jesus grew up. However, there is very little to see in the town of Nazareth as people have constantly lived in there. There is however, a huge Catholic Church in the town which has the remains of a house within it - which is suggested to have been the house where Jesus lived. As with many sites in Israel this can not taken too literally as there is no conclusive evidence to say 100% that this is the house. There is another church in Nazareth which owns a small room below the ground which could be the remains of a synagogue and as this is the only remains of a synagogue within Nazareth, which has been found then it seems possible that Jesus would have been there as he spent most of his... ...After a very unfortunate start to our city break to Amsterdam my friend and I arrived at this hotel. I want to tell you all the shortened version of what actually happened... Our Tour Operator booked us into the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Den Haag instead of the hotel in Schiphol [where the airport is]. Not wanting to miss out on the sights of Amsterdam, and not wanting to travel 60km each way between the sights and the hotel we made our way to Amsterdam. After about 300EUR in transport, conmen taxi drivers, and "Sorry we're full, good luck!" from ever hotelier we were directed to the Garden Hotel by their sister hotel Jan Luyken. We arrived to see a hotel in a quiet area next to a canal with ducks and boats...absolutely gorgeous area! Lovely houses, lots of plants and trees and of course the ducks and geese! Advantages: beautiful gardens free to visit, good location, very clean and polite staff
Disadvantages: expensive internet

...four that is. Anyway back to the hotel, it is named the grand view gardens because out the back is a huge garden which was infact used for a television show in china! It is free for those who stay in the hotel but if your not staying in there you have to pay. We spent a good couple of hours walking round it all. there is a huge man made lake in the middle with lots of trees and little chinese buildings and ornaments around. There is also a small animal 'zoo' which was quite nice. Peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs, deers, goats, monkeys etc. It was quite sad though because all the animals were so hungry and the staff sell food to visitors so you can feed them - so we did - and most of it! it was gone in a few seconds. Definalty worth visiting the gardens as they area beautiful, and in the evening there are shows. We didnt stay in the evening... Read review
