El Capistrano Village is possibly the most beautiful and exclusive urbanization on the Costa del sol, situated between the Sierra de Almijara and the Mediterranean sea, an area whose exceptional microclimate produces vegetation with unique beauty and unusual colours.

Advantages: Easy to get to, UK friendly with a touch of spain Disadvantages: Not for the seasoned traveller
Some people love nerja, others hate it. I think it depends on what you expect when you come here and what you came to spain looking for. When I first travelled up to Nerja I was told "its full of lager louts", "Its all british", " its full of tourists you can´t move".´This is not strictly true. Yes the british are here, and sometimes in great numbers but I have always found them to be a friendly well behaved bunch.
Nerja is a lovely coastal town ... ...many guildes and brochures as the Costa del Sol which is not strictly true and the local certainly don´t regard themselves as being on the Costa del Sol. It´s clean, lively and bustles with life all year round. True in the height of summer there are many more tourists and you are unlikely to go anywhere and not hear an english voice but there are some great little spanish bars to be found if you want to. The Round Bar, just up from the balcon de ...

Advantages: Perfect family holiday Disadvantages: None
...Nerja, east of Malaga on the CostadelSol, is the place to be for a wonderful family holiday. We wnet last August and we're going back this year. It was recommended by a friend and it sounded just right for us; quiet, lots of restaurants, excellent beaches and reasonably Spanish and unspoilt. She was right on all accounts!!
We could only go in August so it was touch and go whether we could afford it. The packages, even the cheap ones, came out at around £2800 for the four of us (mum, dad, girl 10 and boy 8). So i decided to go it alone.
Good thing I did and I'd recommend booking the holiday yourself. I found a three bedroom apartment on the internet: Spanishholiday.com. They are agents for private owners and you deal with the owners yourself. Excellent communication, very good price: £680 for two weeks in August. I booked the flight...

Advantages: The all-year-round good weather, the scenery and the people Disadvantages: The fact that in 10 years time it will be far more developed than it is now.
...Nerja is on the south coast of Spain, the Costadelsol, about a 1 hour drive east of Malaga. It is a special place because it is unlike any other on the Costadelsol.
Nerja has been voted the prettiest village on Costadelsol more than once.
Nerja has a building restriction that means none of its buildings may be more than four stories high. This makes a huge difference as there are no large, tower-block hotels in sight.
Nerja is truly multi-cultural because so many people retire out there (not just English; American, Norwegian, Dutch, French, Canadian etc).
Nerja has a massive English community with its own newspaper, theatre group, shops and businesses. I know this might sound a bit colonial, but you would have to see it working to appreciate it. There is no industry in Nerja except tourism. The locals tend to want to keep...

Advantages: You can choose whether to pay up front or on collection Disadvantages: Read the small print for the hidden charges and then try to find your car!
...For the past 2 years we have spent a week in Nerja on the CostaDelSol (about a 45 minute drive from Malaga Airport, where we collected and returned our hire car) and on both occasions used Carjet as our car rental supplier.
2006 and we had great service, no deposit, no hidden charges (although we did pay extra insurance - about 15 Euros to cover wheel damage and small "dings") and felt that we had received good value for our money. We rented a Renault Megane Scenic type people carrier car for £129 for the week, including half a tank of petrol, which we were to top up and return to the same and 2 free booster seats for our two young children.
2007 and the operator although still branded as Carjet is now using local firm Goldcar Europa - previously the supplier was Crown. I believe this may simply be a re-branding of the original...
