We stayed in a standard double room over the Easter bank holiday weekend booking through Late Rooms. The hotel is beautiful, a converted country house overlooking the estuary, just outside the Lake District. The communal areas of the hotel are very well kept, reception staff were very helpful and the restaurant food was fantastic, although choice was limited for vegetarians. Spa facilities are including in the room price. We stayed in room 18 which had no view (expected since a standard room with a view was more expensive) and was quite small. Had we paid the full £180 room tariff we would have been disappointed with the room but for the £60 we paid with Late Rooms we were satisfied. Our main disappointment was the bed which left us aching in the morning! I would visit this hotel again but only at Late Rooms prices and next time I would book a superior room.
