mile & half outside Manchester city centre, but close enough for you to be able to step back into inner Manchester and other locations within minutes and with ease....
We are AA & RAC rated with all rooms en-suite tea coffee making facilities and colour televisions. Close to winter gardens, tower and all blackpool amenities.
Advantages: Close to Heathrow, bargain room prices. Disadvantages: Difficult to transfer from Heathrow
...During my recent trip to New York our connecting flights to Manchester required us to have an overnight stay in London. Rather than travelling in to central london I decided to look for a hotel located close to the airport but also as cost effective as possible.
The flights and accommodation for New York had been booked since early 2005 so the hotel I have to admit was something I had forgotton to book so when it came to September and the balance for the hotel was due, so I decided to pay the balance and realised that I needed to book the hotel for our brief overnight stay.
Where to start I thought? So I went onto the Heathrow BAA website to try and find some hotels close to the hotel and as there was 4 of us we needed something within the budget and the hotels were coming out at £78.00 located within the airport, too expensive...

Advantages: Safe, central, clean Disadvantages: A little expensive
...The Jury's Inn Manchester is a good functional city centre hotel. Rooms are spotlessly clean, and have coffee facilies. Some sadly only have a shower and no bath. Although associated with Jurys Hotels, this is the junior brand, rather like the Express Holiday Inns. Breakfast is English, served in a school canteen type affair where you can eat enough to keep you going through to dinner. For dinner you have a choice of a very pleasant retaurant overlooking the canal, or a more work a day bar with snacks. The hotel does not have a dedicated car park so you have to use the multi story across the road. Although the hotel do give you a discout, this is still a pain when you want to get luggage etc. I would recomment Jurys Inn to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable base in centralManchester....

Advantages: Luxurious hotel! Disadvantages: You have to provide a £50 deposit on your credit card upon arrival.
...My partner and I enjoyed a romantic stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in the centre of Manchester over Easter 2008. If you book online via the hotel's website they offer last minute deals which are far cheaper than the standard rates. We stayed in a Boudior Grand Room for £120 a night whereas the standard rate for this type of room is £255. The hotel is centrally located opposite Granada TV and the Museum of Science and Industry. Walking distance to shops. The hotel rooms are very nicely decorated. Our room was on two levels: living area downstairs and bathroom / bedroom upstairs. Bathroom had a roll-top bath as well as modern rain head shower. The hotel has a roof top terrace and hot tub so take your trunks! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed oysters from the hotel's very own oyster bar. It is a bit...

Advantages: good standard Disadvantages: none that I know of
...I first stayed at the Portland hotel some ten years ago. It was a prolonged stay of nearly 4 months so I got to know the hotel well.
I have always found the service to be excellent whether it is on reception or in the restaurant. The rooms are well appointed, even the cheaper rooms, but I would recommend you have the biggest you can afford because the bigger size rooms are well worth the extra. 10 years ago the food was really excellent and would have put most 5 star hotels in the shade. However, times change and, whilst the food is still good, it is now aimed more for the middle market.
It will be more expensive to book during the week because the hotel caters for the business user but do take advantage of the weekend breaks available which are excellent value for money.
The hotel is centrally placed close to the Arndale Centre...
