Whitby's wonderful harbour

Advantages: Lots of history, plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: Some areas are not suitable for disabled visitors

Whitby is a small fishing town in the north east of England and in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful picturesque seaside locations in this part of England. The town itself has a real old worldly feel to it with its bustling narrow streets and each week thousands of visitors descend on the town to soak up its charm. At the heart of Whitby is its harbour and without this harbour there is no doubt that Whitby would not be the wonderful place that we find today. The town grew up along the two opposite banks of the River Esk, which is spanned by a swing bridge that was constructed in 1908. It is however known that a bridge has spanned this river since medieval times, whilst the town itself predates that by a further thousand years or more. Whitby's most famous landmark, its abbey was built in the year 657AD. Today, Whitby ...

The Sydney Harbour Bridge

sides of Sydney and is frequently used by people travelling to and from work everyday. Pedestrians are also able to walk along the bridge, and there is a section from which a train service operates. If your staying in Sydney for a number of days I would try walking and taking a train through the bridge because it gives you a detailed look of the surrounding Sydney area. Whilst staying in Sydney you may hear from a lot of travels to take the Sydney Harbour Bridge Walking Tour. My review is going to talk about the tour in more detail because I think it allows travellers a chance to see what it?s all about. The tour gives visitors a chance to walk on the bridge itself, dangling down and allowing you to see some of the greatest views anywhere in Sydney. The Tour: The tour operators give you a number of packages that you can opt for, each ...

Shanghai Surprise?

Advantages: Wilson's Wit and Chan's high kicks
Disadvantages: A plodding and cliched plot

Shanghai Surprise? Well no not really. Shanghai Noon has an enormous advantage over its sequel, everyone expected it to be rubbish. Wilson?s wit teamed with Chan?s physical dexterity and choreographed ingenuity made for a pleasant surprise. The trouble with Shanghai Knights is we expect it to be good, don?t get me wrong it?s not that it?s bad, it?s just OK. It?s unfortunate that there isn?t really a plot, what there is something to do with an imperial seal and a regicidal English bad guy. For those of you who haven?t seen Shanghai Noon (and I?d recommend that you do) I?ll try and get you up to speed. We first met Jackie Chan?s character Chon Wang (pronounced John Wayne ? see what they did there?) when he came to America to rescue a Princess. Along the way he teamed up with the inept outlaw Roy O?Bannon (Owen Wilson). What followed ...
