...Just got back from a 2 night 3 day stay at the New York and it was great! Hotel is in a excellent location, a 2 minute walk from the Disney Village and only 5 minutes from the Disney Parks. Check in was 3pm but the hotel allowed us to check in at 10:30 am. We stayed in the Gramercey Park part of the hotel, rooms were clean and spacious, with excellent facilities, nice view of the Disney castle from our room, there is a safe in the room free of charge. Breakfast is included and is continental style but also serves bacon, sausages and scrambled egg, I think this is something to do with the hotel being American themed? Staff at the hotel are great, very helpful and polite. The hotel also has an ice rink through the winter which you have to pay for but worth it. Mickey has his kids disco in the hotel reception each evening at 8pm. The hotel...

Advantages: Position, clean, secure parking Disadvantages: Old fashioned
...enough to get by. Checkout is 11am but this can be extended and there is a luggage storage room.
The included breakfast - served in the bar area behind reception between 6.30 and 10.00 am - was nothing to write home about but was adequate with pastries, yoghurt, juice and coffee. On two of the days there was also cheese and meats so perhaps we were just too late on the first morning!
There is restaurant in the hotel which is open for lunch and dinner and a pizzeria open in the evening
The rooms are reached via a large staircase or a typically small lift. The corridors are marble and the rooms themselves are clean but typically old-fashioned Italian - dark wood and shutters. We had an en suite shower room with fairly new fittings and satellite tv with BBC World.
Our room didn't, but some are advertised as having views...

For information, we stayed there between the 12th and 17th of December 2005, and for this year, prices at that time of year (the most magical in NYC!) are $1,244.75, which I think is great value for a hotel in its location at Christmas time.
This hotel is for you if you want something in a prime location, for a very good price. The rooms are not huge, but the staff are pleasant, willing to help and the hotel offers airport transfers too. I would recommend this hotel to couples travelling to New York, I...

The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
