The UK's '4th coolest boutique hotel'

Advantages: Cental location, friendly service, individualistic
Disadvantages: A little cramped, grubby carpets, a little inflexible on breakfast times

I travel a lot with work and it's a trifle sad but I have become blasé regarding the same luxury hotel chains-Renaissance, Holiday Inn, Hilton etc It was nice to stay at a boutique hotel for once-and one right slap bang in the middle of Newcastle city centre. Prestige Events Magazine voted it the 4th coolest boutique hotel in the UK last year. The Lowry in Manchester (I love it) was number 10. It's a cute little hotel with a mere 49 bedrooms. I'm not sure why we stay here rather than one of the hotel chains but I am not complaining! Apparently it used to be a bank. It's also Newcastle's first pet friendly hotel. I travelled with my dear deceased little dog in the past and we both enjoyed dog friendly hotels. First impressions: You could almost miss the hotel, as it's very discreet. And small! As soon as you walk through the door ...

NewCastle hotel

Advantages: good location
Disadvantages: none.

+Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle+ One a recent trip too Newcastle , i needed someplace to stay and this hotel looked good. + The location + Perfect Location for myself as I arrived into Newcastle by Train and your turn right at the train station and your there , no taxi needed. + First look + The hotel reception area is very nice , with this amazing light ficture which is so sparkly. The rception staff are very friendlly aswel. It looks very nice for a 3 star hotel , i would give it 4 easy! + The room + Nice room , spacious and they gave me free water and a biscuit , nice touch. There was a en -suite bathroom and a view. There was also room service option. + others + this hotel had a swimming pool , which i never used but it's allways good to have. you had to pay for breakfast seperate which was pricey so i just went to the greggs ...

Review of Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

great hotel ... deserves a much better rating

Advantages: great prices ... offers always on ... great (well cooked) food
Disadvantages: noisy at new year and christmas i have heard ... (what do you expect)

i thought this hotel was fantastic in my personal experience ... i travelled from shrewsbury ... up to newcastle to watch the famous newcastle united fc with some family members ... i was rather pleasantly suprised when i found myself at the hotel ... only minutes away from the station ... this was very pleasing ... the hotel was very cheap ... i didn't pay but we got a very good deal ... it worked out to about £13 per person ... per night ... as we only stayed for one night ... the hotel was fantastic quality as the name sugests and deserves much more than 2 star ... i'd personally rate it at 3/4 ... 4 at a push maybe with a slight redecoration and some younger, sexier staff ... :P ... the rooms were very pleasant ... spacious and were basicly furnished with iron ... ironing board ... TV ... Sky via payment ... same ...
