Advantages: ????? Disadvantages: food, noise, rooms, swimming pools, position in fact everything
...the noise factor.
On one evening we paid to eat in the resteraunt, there was no choice only fish or pork stew(disgusting).
To be kind, I'd say the whole complex was tired and in need of renovation, but in reality, it echoed our general impression of Malta - it was neglected and in need of a total re-fit. It is not to be recommended unless they've done a lot of work over the years
DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPLEX for your own sanity.
watch out guys I have got so much to tell am now having fun with the reviews....

Advantages: Warm local people, everyone speaks (and is willing to speak) English, very cheap food, they drive on the same side as in UK Disadvantages: Rather, well dusty looking, old fasioned (but not in good way), clothes no cheaper than London
...at the Westin Dragonara Resort, a comfortable five star deluxe hotel with good service, rooms and food, but quite a long way from having those special qualities associated with the "Leading Hotels of the World". The area in which it was situated - St. Julians/Paceville was nothing special, but certainly not rough as implied in other opinions. The most notable development was Portomaso, a vast complex comprising a new Hilton Hotel (the reason I did not stay there is due to my dislike of the Hilton brand - very middle of the range hotels, anyway...), modern marina, restaurants, bars, and three large blocks of apartments and penthouses. For those of you who are always tempted to buy property abroad, I will give further details of this developement. Maltese property is very reasonably priced, with no areas being particularly expensive. Portomaso...

Advantages: Small farming Maltese village Disadvantages: not many shops
...Manikata - A small country village in Malta
Manikata is a small typical Maltese village. The main industry of Manikata is farming. Manikata is located on a farming valley which is rich in produce. Much of the produce is harvested and sold off at framing markets.
On the outskirts of Manikata there were two military camps in the 1960's. One was home to Royal Malta Artillery and the other was a British Army camp which hosted many different regiments including the Royal Marines .
These army camps are no longer active. One of them has been turned into a holiday style village "Hal-Ferh"
Just about a 10 minute walk is Golden Bay, one of Malta's best known beaches. AT present there is a new Hotel complex being built replacing the GOLDEN SANDS hotel which was built in the 1970's. This hotel has now been demolished and a brand new...

I can't claim to be an expert on Russian 19th century literature, but one thing I don't associate with it is crime fiction; so I was surprised to pick this book up and find that it was crime fiction. I was also surprised it was a novel,... more
I stayed at the Europa Hotel for five nights in August of 2007 with two others. Here is a summary of our experience:
1. The location of the hotel cannot be faulted - a bus stop, children's playground, supermarket and a host of eateries and bars are... more
Le Méridian Phoenicia has for a long time styled itself as the premier hotel in Valetta, and there are certainly grounds for agreeing with that verdict. It boasts many famous vistiors, and when there were all the documentaries about the 80th birthday... more
