See All of New York For $45

Advantages: An amazing idea, it allowed us to see a lot more of New York
Disadvantages: Not always spaces upstairs, Annoying and Disrespectful Tour Guides

...she has dealt with the Grey Line New York Bus Tours and they were supposed to be brilliant. She then told us, to walk out of the hotel, turn right and then go right again and then you’ll get there. Bull. I’m sorry; I really wish we had moaned about this, because the woman had obviously never used this bus tour before. If you stay anywhere near Times Square then you should be fine, I believe the pick up for the uptown tour is near Madame Taussauds, ...
...the title, just in case Grey Line reads this. The Map They give you a map with your purchase and I have to say it was very helpful. On the morning of the Wednesday, I sat down and worked out where to get on and off and it worked perfectly. Considering I’m terrible with directions and working out how to get places, this was very easy to do and it helped me loads. I would recommend using this to help you decide where to go if you decide to use ...

Mamma Mia, How Can I Resist You?

Advantages: Amazing singing, well worth our money
Disadvantages: Some weak acting and some bad accents

...the end, find tickets for Mamma Mia, our second choice. The cheapest tickets were reasonably priced and we now knew that we were going to love the musical because we all loved the movie. Getting There On the first day we found the Winter Garden Theatre, purely by mistake, as I kept on getting us lost over and over again. The tickets hadn’t been booked by this time, so we assumed it was almost like karma that we would be going to this theatre. ...
...I think it only houses Mamma Mia at the moment; it might house another one soon though. Final Opinion I didn’t want to write too much on this review as there is not too much to talk about other than what i’ve written. It was a lovely theatre production, however now I’ve seen it once, I don’t think I’ll go back to see it again at the theatre, if the film was identical almost to the theatre production, then other productions of this will be pretty ...

New York City's Best Kept Secret

Advantages: Small, Cheap, Quick to get around and beautiful animals
Disadvantages: Some animals looked way too hot in the heat we had. Wasn't sure if it was cruel or not?

...either the Bronx Zoo or Central Park Zoo. Well Central Park is only about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, so we decided it was probably better to go to this one rather than Bronx Zoo. After a very long day in the 90 degree heat, we finally arrived at the zoo, got our tickets and went straight into the zoo. The first obstacle you’ll face is the photographers, attempting to get more money out of you in the end; we declined as we all looked like utter ...
...you manage to get into Central Park, then I would recommend going to the Zoo. To get to the zoo, you have to get onto 5th Avenue and then enter through there. You will be on Museum Mile at this point, I believe opposite the Guggenheim. As you walk into the park, you are taken back at how different it is from the hustle and bustle of New York City. If you walk into the park, you’ll see a path leading down to the left, follow this and you’ll soon see ...

New York City's best kept secret

Advantages: Friendly party atmosphere
Disadvantages: None

...kept secret" - that's how the plumber of the 'Frying Pan' described this old sunken vessel to me. 'The Frying Pan' is named after the 'Frying Pan Shoals', where the boat was used as a floating lightship. The vessel, after sinking, was pulled up off the ocean floor, cleaned of all the silt and shellfish, and turned into an entertainment attraction. Fitted with a dance floor and DJ booth, the boat has become a club with a difference. Although the outside ...
...are able to walk around the vessel, through the kitchen, into the old bedrooms and rusty corridors filled with machinery. With little portholes everywhere, the whole vessel is exactly as it was when it was pulled up from the ocean floor - except for the silt & sludge. This is an excellent place to meet down-to-earth, interesting and friendly people. Events are always going on here from regular club nights with loud music to art shows and film festivals. ...

Weird feeling

Advantages: Beautiful, peaceful, calming.
Disadvantages: Not much to see.

Strawberry Fields is a three acre landscape on the edge of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. It apparently contains plants from more than one hundred countries. It is a spot that was often visited by John, and is only a few yards away from the Dakota Building across the street outside of which the former Beatle met his death in 1980. The garden is tear-shaped and contains a tiled mosaic. The tribute simply says, 'Imagine'. John's ...
...through funds from her that Strawberry Fields is maintained. In May this year I had enjoyed a romantic stroll through Central Park with my wife. It was cold and sunny. A beautiful New York day. We came across Strawberry Fields and it made us stop in our tracks. It is a very simple tribute, and there is not really much to it. I have no particular love for John Lennon, but this area of the park has an aura about it that nearly reduced me to tears. ...
