The phantom of the opera 2006
Advantages: Great music and scenery Disadvantages: VERY expensive
...Loydd Webbers classic Phantom of the Opera Musical, i'm still blown away and would love to go and see it again. If your looking for an outing with the family, with older children, teenagers (as a 3 hour long musical would likely bore a 6 year old) then this is the place to go. I'm only sixteen and went to see the musical with my aunt, all I can say is its outstanding. The scenery, the music, the actors and actresses and the very talented singers. ... ...by this one.
The Musical Itself
The musical is about an opera house in France, which is the home of a Phantom. The phantom falls in loves with a young women Christine, who used to be a very shy person. Under the influence of her teacher (the phantom) Christine improves rapidly on her singing and overcomes her stage fears, to become the lead in the new musical held at the theatre. But one person gets stands between the phantom and his dream of happyness ...

New York
Intro
This review started out as just one review, however it was getting into the 6000 word mark, so I decided to take out and edit the bits that went over 1000 words or so and am going to put them into separate reviews. Hopefully you enjoy the review, please take the time to rate and comment (if you can be bothered with either ) as it will be much appreciated. Thanks again for reading. Flying from UK to New York
On the 17th ... ...amazing flight.
Arriving In New York
We arrived at JFK in New York about 12pm, due to my nan being disabled we got some assistance which meant we got through all of the queues very quickly which was great after such a long flight. The guy that pushed my nans wheelchair was brilliant, he included us all in conversation and told us all about what was happening in New York at that time. Getting a taxi out of the airport is very easy, you walk ...

Beauty and the Beast - Manchester
Advantages: Very well animated Disadvantages: Too musical for children
...year old cousin to see Beauty and the Beast the Musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
The show started off with a musical ensemble and with two actors on stage, one as the prince and the other as the haggered person with the rose. Very dramatic start as the haggered person' outfit is stripped to display the beauty ejected into the air with lots and lots of bright lights of a "firework display".
The show itself is based on the Disney film ... ...were rather bored with show by about 40 minutes into the musical as sometimes some of the scenes were limited to 2 actors and very little activity. Some of the scenes were very funny when Lefou got in the way and being hit over by the Young Prince. They thought that this was very funny.
Fantastic background muriels. Very colourful show but judging by my girls' boredom and some other kids that were around the stall, a lot of chit chat unfortunately ...

The Ultimate Family Theatre Experience
Advantages: Wonderful music, costumes, great un-Disneyfied adaptation Disadvantages: None
I first saw The Lion King in the West End when it opened in 1999 and was very dubious about how well it would transfer from the screen to the stage. However, as soon as the curtain went up, all of my expectations were blown away. The Lion King is the perfect family show and it's easy to see why it still plays to sell out audiences now and why it was both mine and my sister's top choice to see on our recent trip to New York, despite having seen it ... ...The Lion King plays in New York at the Minkskoff Theatre just off of Times Square. Sadly, due to its wide appeal and popularity, tickets aren't cheap and are not easy to get hold of - we paid about $100 each for our seats in the orchestra stalls and definitely book well in advance (don't wait until you arrive in New York!) as shows tend to sell out months in advance.
The plot will no doubt be familiar to anyone who's seen the Disney film - Simba, ...

Saturday Night Fever
Advantages: good songs Disadvantages: weak story line
This review refers to the London version.
I had seen quite a few musicals in London before seeing this. It wasn't something that was particularly on my list of things to see but with half price tickets we decided to give it a go.
I had seen the We Will Rock You musical which like this is based around songs and thoroughly enjoyed it and so I thought it should be good as I like almost all types of music. So I had quite high hopes for the show.
I ... ...but after seeing something in London yesterday which isn't as well known I thought I'd give a review about this due to my feelings.
The songs were catchy and had you singing them for a while after you left the theatre - I like it when musicals do that and then you just remember then.
However the story line of the musical was very weak and seemed like it had been put together just for the songs, it was, to be honest rubbish. The story didn't really ...
