The cheapest cruise you will ever go on!
Advantages: Its free! Lots of seating and observation decks to see the sights. Disadvantages: Have to stay indoors if bad weather
...Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Staten Island. The only non-vehicular way to access Staten Island is using the free ferry run by the New York City Department of Transportation that commutes between the Whitehall terminal in Manhattan and the St. George terminal on Staten Island. The fleet is made up of 9 different ferries, Spirit of America, Sen. John J. Marchi , Guy V. Molinari, Samuel I. Newhouse, Andrew J. Barberi , John F. Kennedy , John Noble, ... ...each day to commute between Staten Island and Manhattan whether it be for work, pleasure or if your a tourist like we were and the ferries run approx every 30 minutes or 20 during peak times. Even if your not going to Staten Island as a tourist its a great free way to see the Statue Of Liberty on Liberty Island and also Ellis Island which is home of the Immigration Museum. Unfortunately I didn't get to either of these due to bad weather on the day ...

great show no matter where it's seen
Advantages: great catchy songs Disadvantages: some American star I didn't know!
...we narrowed it down to Hairspray or Wicked. I wanted to see Wicked in London - not sure why, I just did. I had no idea what Hairspray was like as hadn't seen the film so it was quite good as no real expectations. We managed to get cheaper tickets for the show from the tkts booth just off Times Square - I can't remember the price of them but it was reasonable. The show kicked off with a great catchy song - Good Morning Baltimore which I loved and ... ...an American, which they all loved but I had no clue who he was! He was great though, bringing comedy into the role where it was needed and played a strong performance. I have since seen the film of this and think that they both are great and so would definitely go and see the musical again! ...

Wicked was Wicked!
Advantages: Good musical, great characters, fun Disadvantages: None really
Are we born Wicked, have bad people been Wicked all their lives or are they just a product of their upbringing and the circumstances put upon them?
This past weekend I went to see the musical Wicked with my husband. The show is being played at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London. The nearest tube stop to this theatre is Victoria. If you are planning to go soon do
check the tube dates/times as the Victoria lined is currently beingworked on over ... ...use an alternative line to get there. The theatre itself is a Grade II listed building which first opened in 1931 as a cinema and then has been
running as a theatre since 1981.
The story is based on the best-selling novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, a re-imagining of L. Frank Baum's classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from the
perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz.
In my opinion it ...

'The Constant Wife' Still a Constant Joy -Update
Advantages: Sparkling cast, still timely, sophisticated and witty piece of satire, beautiful set design and costumes. Disadvantages: Only plays for a limited run, but it has been extended to August 21, 2005.
...'The Constant Wife''s run on Broadway has been extended till the 21st of August, 2005!]
'The Constant Wife' was written in 1926, but you wouldn't know it from the play's very modern, feminist sensibility. In the latest Broadway staging of this Wildean comedy of marital mores and manners by The Roundabout Theatre Group (presented at the unfortunately-named American Airlines Theatre on 42nd Street, formerly known as the Selwyn), audiences can be delighted ... ...and social comment on marriage and infidelity of British writer Somerset Maugham (better known for his more serious works like Rain, Of Human Bondage, The Razor's Edge, etc., and a slew of wonderful short stories). Our heroine is Constance Middleton, a London upper-crust housewife. Her Harley Street surgeon-husband, John, is the talk of the town, or at least the talk of Constance's unmarried sister, Martha, and her mother, Mrs Culver, for his ill-concealed ...

Beauty and the Beast - Manchester
Advantages: Very well animated Disadvantages: Too musical for children
...year old cousin to see Beauty and the Beast the Musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
The show started off with a musical ensemble and with two actors on stage, one as the prince and the other as the haggered person with the rose. Very dramatic start as the haggered person' outfit is stripped to display the beauty ejected into the air with lots and lots of bright lights of a "firework display".
The show itself is based on the Disney film ... ...were rather bored with show by about 40 minutes into the musical as sometimes some of the scenes were limited to 2 actors and very little activity. Some of the scenes were very funny when Lefou got in the way and being hit over by the Young Prince. They thought that this was very funny.
Fantastic background muriels. Very colourful show but judging by my girls' boredom and some other kids that were around the stall, a lot of chit chat unfortunately ...
