Huge Suites, Low Prices
Advantages: Location, size of rooms, free breakfast Disadvantages: None
...once an apartment block which Best Western bought and converted into a hotel. This means that for the price of a standard room you get an amazing deal. Our 'suite' consisted of a large lounge, a large double bedroom with wall-to-wall fitted wardrobes, a good sized bathroom with bath and shower and a kitchen. The bedroom had its own tv and was spacious enough that had you needed a rollaway bed to fit 5 people in the suite then this would be do-able. ... ...streets. We normally stay in the Embassy Suites in New York but decided to try this due to its price and we were really amazed by the value. I have stayed in a number of hotels in the vicinity and this is by far the best for a family. ...

Good base for your holiday
Advantages: close to the attractions Disadvantages: no frills.
...nights and stayed at the Americana inn. We book it through Thomas Cook, and so had no direct dealings with the inn until we arrived in New York. The Inn was very easy to find when we arrived, just get the airport bus to Bryant Park and the hotel is about 2 blocks from there (really not far at all). The bus is only $15 and is a 20 minute journey, which is much cheaper than a taxi. Then from getting off the bus the hotel is only 2 blocks away. It is ... ...and The New York Public Library and there is a subway stop at Bryant park. Perfect location for all your sight seeing! It is a double door with buzzer, plus if you go up the lift or stairs you have to pass through reception so they can see who has come in, which is great for security. The staff were very friendly on arrive and there is a lift to get your bags to the room. It was very simple to check in and we were giving a city guide book from them ...

Midtown Manhattan Bargain
Advantages: Excellent location, breakfast included in the rate, reasonable prices - if booked ahead Disadvantages: Noisy heating and cooling system, weak shower, crowds at breakfast
...I discovered, on Expedia, the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden, a hotel which was very well located in Midtown and yet was only going to set me back £325 for three nights with breakfast included. Having read through the reviews on Trip Advisor I decided to snap this special rate up - despite the fact it was non-refundable and had to be paid upfront at the time of booking - which was almost a year in advance. The Location When I stay ... ...the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden is located close to Madison Square Garden on 29th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues. It is a short two block walk from Penn Station and just 5 blocks from 34th Street and the joys of Macy's and the Empire State Building. Alternatively, if you fancy popping down to Chelsea, it's only 6 blocks south on 8th Avenue to the heart of that neighbourhood. The Hotel The hotel is a relatively new building ...

The Gerswhin Hotel, New York
Advantages: Location, style, value for money Disadvantages: none.
I stayed here with me boyfriend in Feburary for three nights. We stayed in a superior room which i thought was brilliant value for money. I had been told by everyone that all hotel rooms in nyc are tiny. This hotel proved different. We had a large room with double room and two large armchairs and a coffee table and a dresser and tv. There was also a seperate large bathroom and wardrobe with safe. The room and hotel is decorated very well. It is very ... ...a large lobby with big comfy sofas and a piano. It also has a library with a few sofas if you want a smaller area to chill in. In the lobby there were various events on whilst i was there. One day a radio show broadcast, next day a wedding. There is a small coffee shop off the reception area that serves breakfasts and lunches and most importantly gives you free wifi. The reception staff and maid service was very efficient and i had no problems whilst ...

Strictly Business at the Millenium Hilton
Advantages: excellent room, good service, excellent location in the financial district Disadvantages: not great for a sightseeing holiday
I stayed in this hotel when in NYC on business for a week in summer 2008 and I have to say I was very impressed with it. ~Location~
The Hilton is located in the heart of Downtown Manhattan's financial district, on Church Street between Fulton and Dey Street. I had about a 5 minute walk in the mornings to my company's offices on Wall Street. The hotel is literally across the road from the World Trade Centre site and so having a room on the 33rd floor ... ...bit eerie. Having said that, there was a great view between the buildings over the Hudson and into New Jersey, especially in the evenings when the sun was setting out that way. I have read a few people's reviews that they were disturbed by the noise from the works going on due to the reconstruction of the trade centre. I have to say that it did not really bother me, but saying that I am a very heavy sleeper. The department store Century 21 was also ...
