Comfortable business class hotel in great location
Review of Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, New York City by Uncle_Tippet

Advantages: Great mid-town location. Newly renovated
Disadvantages: Large. Service is spotty.

...It's main competition is the Sheraton a block away on 7th Ave. The Hilton is a huge hotel (over 1000 rooms with 44 floors) and is a busy during convention season. We visited New York in October and stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights with our children and what follows below is a recap of our experience. Rates: We used Hotwire and managed to get a great $135/night rate. The standard weekday rates range from $250-$350. (Hint: Hotwire has it as a 4 star ...
...Park hotels or even the Sheraton by Times Square. The rooms looking down 6th Avenue have the better views of neon lights so you'll have to ask for it. Breakfast is available in the hotel at the New York Marketplace restaurant ($14 for the continental buffet; $17 for the full American buffet with eggs and omelets cooked to order and $19 for the Japanese buffet). There's also the standard hotel lounge which was very loud and filled with smoke; and ... Read review

No sign of Gordon Jackson
Review of Hudson Hotel, New York City by earlofaldgate

Advantages: cool bars, good location, stylish
Disadvantages: can be expensive, rooms are small

...my second stay in the Hudson hotel. Since I had gone to Australia for 2 weeks last year I didn't have enough holiday left to fit in another trip so I thought it would be wise to slip in a visit this year before I start my new job. Location We flew BA to JFK airport, a 7 hour 35 minute trip getting us into JFK in the early evening - the best way, I find, so you can stay up late to try and counter the effects of jet-lag (NY is 5 hours behind so the ...
...I would stay at the Hudson again on my next trip but despite the regular rooms being very small would not bother to upgrade. It would have been nice to have gone out onto the roof terrace but we were a couple of weeks early in the season for it to have been open, maybe next time. Good value, good location & excellent service, 9 /10 NY Tips I have found a few places that never dissapoint, so if your'e visiting you may want to try - Thai food - Holy ... Read review

Give it a try, you might like it!
Review of Shelburne Murray Hill, New York City by claire.wizzbiz

Advantages: Price, location, cleanliness
Disadvantages: Outdated decor and furniture

We stayed here for one night in April 2007 during a flying visit to NYC. It was a last minute arrangement and we booked through lastminute.com. This hotel had an excellent location. We easily walked to Times Square, Chrysler Building, Bloomingdales etc.. We also walked to China Town, although this was a bit more of a trek. The hotel was very close to an excellent steak house called The Capital Grille - which i would recommend 100% - superbe place ...
...excellent, sincere and helpful - I say sincere as this is something i found lacking in most sales people in New York. We had a suite, which had excellent space. 2 queen size beds. As a couple on holiday, we'd normally find this odd, but actually walking around NYC was exhausting, so a comfy bed each was lovely. I have to be honest, the room's furniture and decor needed updating, the sofa had a hole in it, the curtains were a bit shabby. We had just ... Read review

Do Not Stay Here
Review of Milford Plaza Hotel, New York City by RLH77075

Advantages: Near Times Square
Disadvantages: Hotel is Pathetic

...conference who was in the Milford said that they had some problem or another with their rooms. I don't know if the hotel is salvageable. The amount of rennovation it would take to make these rooms worth staying in is probably greater than the cost to demolish and rebuild. On the positive side, the hotel staff was very pleasant. But then they probably feel guilty each time they check somebody in. If this hotel were the only option I had to stay during ... Read review

Review of Belleclaire Hotel, New York City by mark_s0

Advantages: Excellent rooms, friendly staff, transportation links, facilities near by.
Disadvantages: Lifts can only fit 2/3 people with suitcases in.

...near to the city and that has good transportation links. We are hoping to go back to NYC next year and we would definately go back to the Belleclaire. Hopefully this review has been helpful for anyone looking to stay at the Belleclaire or is just going to NYC. ... Read review
