A great hotel in a great location
Review of Millennium Hotel Broadway, New York City by
diddy1
Advantages: Big Rooms, Frendly staff
Disadvantages: Resturant food not to my taste - mum LOVED their beef burger though!!
I have stayed at this hotel 2 times in a couple of years, and I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The rooms are of a great size, and are of a really high standard.
The room facilities are great, safe, tv, bathroom, soaps etc, tea facilities, free morning newspapers!
The hotel staff are ever-so friendly, always saying hello and happy to help. Hotel shop supplies anything you may need, newspapers, magazines, headache tablets, ... ...and also a theatre..
Just at the end of both sides of the street are Broadway and Times Square.. Lots of shops!! Can be out for hours wandering and spending! Great fun!! =D!!
Lots of resturants near by also..
This hotel has a great store opposite that sells food ->from drinks, crisps, fruit, pasteries and hot food... They make the BEST turkey roll ever!! (simple - roll, butter and turkey - they put LOTS of it on!! cut it and wrap it - it's GREAT!! ...

Simple, stylish, recommended
Review of Soho Grand Hotel, New York City by
abbichicken
Advantages: Luxurious, comfortable hotel with excellent service
Disadvantages: Some of the food was a bit of a let down
I stayed at the Soho Grand in the October of last year, for just one night, but it left such a wonderful impression on me and came up in conversation only moments ago, and hence I thought I'd review the place, if only to recommend it!
I must say before anything else, that I was not responsible for either booking, or paying for the room, as it was part of a business trip, and therefore I can't comment on things like ease of booking, nor, really, ... ...questioning the quality of the Soho Grand though; from start to finish, it was a marvellous, easy, friendly experience. I'd highly, highly recommend a stay here, again, it's not going to be the cheapest of places, but for comfort, luxury, security, and something a little different, as well as being located in a fantastic area, I'd say you'd be hard pushed to find much better!
Further details and pictures can be found at www.sohogrand.com with, I ...

Relaxing in the Urban Jungle
Review of Giraffe Hotel, New York City by
flatshandy
Advantages: location, breakfast available, free wine in the evenings
Disadvantages: noise, can be expensive at some times of year
...friendly without being overly familiar. Our room was cleaned every day by the time we returned and the doorstaff were always on hand to help flag a taxi.
So was it worth it? Absolutely. We'd go back to the Giraffe in a flash - it's a great little hotel. ...

Disadvantages:
Great value hotel right in the heart of Manhattan,at 147 West 43rd St, New York. Just off Times Square but more a quiet oasis than bustling metropolis. Extremely well run.
Totally themed out in Morroccan style (mosiac tiling and palms throughout) its actually pretty authentic. Owner and staff are all North African or at least second generation.
Bookings can be made and discounts can be haggled over online at casablancahotel.com. Thers free wine ...

File Me Impressed!
Review of Library Hotel, New York City by
venice105
Advantages: Peaceful, plush, unique hotel in NYC
Disadvantages: Slightly off the beaten path
...and I stayed in the Library Hotel in late August of 2004 for two nights. After spending a few nights in one of its sister hotels the Casablanca we had to change accommodation due to room availability. The Library Hotel is presumably named for its location, right across from the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. It is also themed after libraries down to the finest detail, with rooms being numbered by the Dewey Decimal system, and each floor ... ...of the New York Public Library from its wall to wall window overlooking Madison Avenue. Well what more could I ask for? A rooftop garden terrace perhaps, with an attached bar? No, surely that would be over the top! Well I have saved perhaps the best for last, as this hotel does indeed have a delightful rooftop garden (I believe they call it the "Poetry Garden", although I personally did not experience any poetry there!), with decent if not vast views, ...
