Great value hotel right in the heart of Manhattan,at 147 West 43rd St, New York. Just off Times Square but more a quiet oasis than bustling metropolis. Extremely well run. Totally themed out in Morroccan style (mosiac tiling and palms throughout) its actually pretty authentic. Owner and staff are all North African or at least second generation. We stayed here in Feb 2008 after booking through an online travel company. We booked our flights with another online company. We were very happy with this mid-range hotel. It has an impressive exterior but we were slightly disappointed with the room sizes and the staff were not overly friendly - constant tipping required in return for information! ...difficult choice. We chose The Wellington Hotel. I thought it was the right decision when I booked it and as soon as I saw the hotel I knew I had made the right decision. The outside of the hotel looks impressive and you can see the lights from Times Square which is really cosy and inviting.
