NYC Oh yeah
Review of Wellington Hotel, New York City by brand900

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Nothing

I really enjoy travelling around the world, and one thing that I have come to like is staying in a hotel that is central to the place I am visiting. Well, I can definitely say that this hotel is centered in the middle of new york city and close to all of the attractions. For a start, this hotel is great value for money and you will certainly get what you paid for, no doubt. I thought that the quality of service from the staff was excellent, and were ... Read review

Bentley Hotel - New York New York!!!!
Review of Bentley Hotel, New York City by wendybull

Advantages: Clean, nice rooms - amazing views from roof top balcony
Disadvantages: 24 Hour coffee bar was actually a vending machine!!

...Anyway we stayed at The Bentley Hotel for the whole of our stay and overall we were impressed and enjoyed our time there. **ABOUT THE HOTEL** The Bentley is a 3 star hotel which was built in 1904 and last renovated in 2002, however I have a feeling some renovation may be going on now as the roof top restaurant has been closed until further notice. It has 197 rooms in total, which range in quality depending on which sort you book. We had a regular ...
...wet and warm! The Bentley provides quite a few services for it’s guests, which I will tell you about, but we never used any of these so I cannot comment on their usefulness or how good they were. Laundry/Valet service Room Service Safety Deposit boxes Hotel parking at a charge of $20 for 24 hours. Children under 10 stay free here but we were lucky enough to be able to leave our son with the in laws for the few days we were there, so it was ... Read review

Who Needs to Sleep Anyway?
Review of Marcel Hotel, New York City by VanillaSpy

Advantages: Well located stylish boutique hotel. Walking distance from Times Square and downtown.
Disadvantages: The bedrooms are small and there is no hotel bar.

...the Big Apple at the Marcel Hotel for £450 was a steal and although I'm not usually one to book more than a week in advance, I knew we had to act fast. I wasn't wrong, the price had gone up within days and as it turned out our trip was every bit as good as we'd hoped. The Marcel Hotel is a 3* modern 'boutique' hotel which basically means it is small and stylish and not part of a chain. The decor is tasteful and calming with walls and floors decorated ...
...in the morning. At the Marcel we rarely saw another guest and the staff were confined to the front desk, all were pleasant and polite but typical New Yorkers - never keen to stop and chat! Our room was very small but perfectly formed. Luckily we spent very little time in it but as the shopping bags mounted up, there was less and less space to move about in. Given that it was January we had packed for freezing temperatures however New York welcomed ... Read review

Schmoosing in the big apple
Review of Gershwin Hotel, New York City by mussonanna

Advantages: clean, friendly, interesting, comfortable
Disadvantages: some rooms are basic

...your whle checking out the Gershwin Hotel. Located on East 27th street Manhatten, you can't miss it. It's bright red with large white lanternish sculptures protruding out of it. The area that the hotel is located is Tin pan Alley, the are where much of the music of the 30's and 40's was developed, hense the name gershwin. This hotel offers something a bit different. It's packed with art for a start - (I'm a poet and I know it!) Infact it is a hotel ...
...is always something going on, with live music most days and even comedy nights and fashion shoots. As for facilities well, fairly basic, wireless hookup, telephone, voicemail, tv, air con etc. The hotels best feature is the atmosphiere. The hotel staff are very friendly and most are bi lingual. The rooms vary massively starting at just $40, you can stay in a bunk bed style room, very basic but fine if your travellling on a budget. The prices go up ... Read review

Do Not Stay Here
Review of Milford Plaza Hotel, New York City by RLH77075

Advantages: Near Times Square
Disadvantages: Hotel is Pathetic

...conference who was in the Milford said that they had some problem or another with their rooms. I don't know if the hotel is salvageable. The amount of rennovation it would take to make these rooms worth staying in is probably greater than the cost to demolish and rebuild. On the positive side, the hotel staff was very pleasant. But then they probably feel guilty each time they check somebody in. If this hotel were the only option I had to stay during ... Read review
