Excellent Location
Review of Radisson Lexington Hotel New York, New York City by
grovej
Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Rack rate quite high
...at in New York, The Radisson Lexington. ++++++++++Booking++++++++++
I booked our stay through Expedia www.expedia.co.uk and was paid upfront, I managed to get the hotel for an average rate of £82.22 per night for Christmas eve and Day, this went up to £123.59 for the 26th December, on top of the room rate there is also the tax and charges which were £17.55 per night. The hotel is part of the Radisson chain and can be booked through their website ... ...in bulk.
++++++++++Location++++++++++
The Radisson Lexington is located at Lexington Avenue and 48th street, which is on the east side of Manhattan. Nearby to the hotel is the Waldorf Astoria on Park Ave.
The Hotel is almost parallel with the Rockerfella centre, a few avenues away and can be walked to in under ten minutes. Also nearby is St Patrick's Cathedral, which is worth a visit if you do stay here. Other nearby attractions include Grand ...

Give it a try, you might like it!
Review of Shelburne Murray Hill, New York City by
claire.wizzbiz
Advantages: Price, location, cleanliness
Disadvantages: Outdated decor and furniture
We stayed here for one night in April 2007 during a flying visit to NYC. It was a last minute arrangement and we booked through lastminute.com. This hotel had an excellent location. We easily walked to Times Square, Chrysler Building, Bloomingdales etc.. We also walked to China Town, although this was a bit more of a trek. The hotel was very close to an excellent steak house called The Capital Grille - which i would recommend 100% - superbe place ... ...excellent, sincere and helpful - I say sincere as this is something i found lacking in most sales people in New York. We had a suite, which had excellent space. 2 queen size beds. As a couple on holiday, we'd normally find this odd, but actually walking around NYC was exhausting, so a comfy bed each was lovely. I have to be honest, the room's furniture and decor needed updating, the sofa had a hole in it, the curtains were a bit shabby. We had just ...

New Yorker, New Yorker......
Review of Ramada Plaza & Inn - New Yorker Hotel, New York City by
monkeymitchell30
Advantages: Location, Price, Staff
Disadvantages: Slightly small rooms
We stayed at the New Yorker April 2006. We found the rooms weren\'t huge but enough space for two and extremely good on price.
The staff were all really friendly but not in that overly patronising way that can sometimes happen in the USA.
For us, the added bonus' were the Italian on the bottom left of the hotel and more so, the Tick Tock diner on the right of the hotel. The great thing about the diner was that it was open 24hours, ideal for those ... ...on the wrong subway and got lost in Queens! But that's a whole other story.
The diner had a 'Hurley' lookalike - Lost star. I'm not sure if he knew it, but he was the friendliest chap I have ever met as well. Anyway, we got back to New York next year for our wedding, unfortunately we can't get back into the New Yorker as they are having renovations done. Do try and go at some point though. Its ideally placed for most of the sights and scenery. If ...

No sign of Gordon Jackson
Review of Hudson Hotel, New York City by
earlofaldgate
Advantages: cool bars, good location, stylish
Disadvantages: can be expensive, rooms are small
...my second stay in the Hudson hotel. Since I had gone to Australia for 2 weeks last year I didn't have enough holiday left to fit in another trip so I thought it would be wise to slip in a visit this year before I start my new job.
Location
We flew BA to JFK airport, a 7 hour 35 minute trip getting us into JFK in the early evening - the best way, I find, so you can stay up late to try and counter the effects of jet-lag (NY is 5 hours behind so the ... ...I would stay at the Hudson again on my next trip but despite the regular rooms being very small would not bother to upgrade. It would have been nice to have gone out onto the roof terrace but we were a couple of weeks early in the season for it to have been open, maybe next time. Good value, good location & excellent service, 9 /10
NY Tips
I have found a few places that never dissapoint, so if your'e visiting you may want to try - Thai food - Holy ...

Negative Yet True Review
Review of Hotel Thirty-Thirty, New York City by
Tuliptree
Advantages: Pressurized shower
Disadvantages: Service, Unfriendly staff, Unclean
...go through. I expect standard service at a three star hotel, however this location was far from adequate. The only positive aspects about this hotel was the high pressured showers and the location from the shopping district. I would recommend staying at a Days Inn rather than at Hotel Thirty-Thirty ...
