The bathroom looked like something out of a 1970's motel with peeling watersealing and melamine sink surround. The check-in staff were unattentive and seemed somewhat overworked running all over the place. ...Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman and the lovely toystore FAO Schwatrz are all within a 5 minute walk. I did not use any of the hotels facilities so can not comment on these. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and find it unbelievable The Plaza is in the same class as this when they are clearly worlds apart. Disadvantages: Breakfast is a waste of time

When giving directions to your cab driver make sure you give them the 41st street entrance as this is quieter and you have time to get out of the cab without being run over by NYC drivers. The doormen and bellboys are friendly and the bellboys take you up to the hotel reception on the 21st floor via a fast lift. Check-in was speedy, efficient and friendly. ...

We stayed at this hotel in June 2006. We were allocated a room on a high floor (10th), as requested, with a view out to the street. Room was fairly small (typical for a city centre) but clean and comfortable, having been recently refurbished.
