Edison hotel New York
Advantages: Rooms are spacious, clean, fresh and everyone is so friendly. Disadvantages: No disadvantges, loved this place.
I visited this hotel with my school in February 2007 and there was a group of 40 with 5 teachers. The group included boys and girls, there were very welcoming when we arrived after a long flight from England and getting up a 4.30. They allowed us up to our rooms, which where very spacious and comfortable. They had big double beds, which could have easily have fitted three people in. The bathroom was spacious and clean with lovley hot water for when ... ...long weary day. They provided us with big white fluffy towels to use after our bath and shower and layed out complimenatry gifts for us to use.
The hotel is just round the corner from Times Square which is buzzing all the time with the bright lights.
I recommend you visit this hotel, with its friendly staff and comfortable beds. ...

The perfect location in New York
Advantages: Brilliant location, modern, big room, huge TV, one of the cheapest hotels Disadvantages: Breakfast is expensive, toilet blocked a couple of times, not enough lifts
The Park Central Hotel New York is in a brilliant location on 56th and 7th right in the centre of everything. A 10 minute walk downtown brings you to Times Square, 2 blocks uptown takes you to Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping is just 1 or 2 blocks to the east and a subway station 20 seconds away to take you to wherever else you want to go. Carnegie Hall is directly opposite and the Rockefeller Centre is less than 10 minutes away. The hotel is surrounded ... ...Irish bar just opposite. The location really couldn't get any better. When we first arrived it was difficult for us for find but that was only because we didn't have a map with us and because the grid system is so confusing at first. We were walking up and down for about 20 minutes until we eventually came across it at practically the same place where we started! The 3.5* hotel looks great from the outside with its revolving doors and door men and ...

Great location, comfortable hotel
Advantages: Location location location. Comfortable large rooms Disadvantages: May appear dated and less cool than other hotels
We found this hotel in midtown west as part of a package through Virgin Holidays and ending up chosing is mainly on the fact it was the cheapest hotel they offered somewhere close to the middle of Manhattan. The hotel is on 10th Avenue, only a couple of blocks from Times Square (where broadway crosses 7th Avenue for an idea of street numbers). Would also add that we walked almost everywhere and felt perfectly safe in the streets around Times Square ... ...people off at much more expensive hotels during our transfer from JFK, I don't think we could have wished for a better location for the price. Our , on the 10th Avenue front of the hotel, had views of the midtown skyline, including the Empire State Building. It may not be the coolest looking hotel in town, in fact it looks like a motel from the outside, but it's comfortable. Our room was on the second floor, quite large with two double (or Queen-size) ...

Howard Johnson Inn, Albany
Advantages: easy to get to, on main hotel/recreation strip into the city Disadvantages: dated, noisy
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night in early September 2006.
The place is easy to find, on the busy main hotel/motel/restaurant strip on the outskirts of the city.
The hotel has the appearance and feel of a motel from the moment you drive in, from the reception area to the rooms. there is plenty of parking and we found no problems getting our car right outside our room.
Our room was on the ground floor at the rear of the premises. the room was ... ...hairdryer, coffee maker etc, however everything looked a bit old and tired. I was concerned about security, as the doors and locks did not appear too substantial, and being round the back of the premises with the door leading directly on to the car park, I felt a little uneasy. There may have been CCTV monitoring the car park however I could not see any.
Some of the hotel appeared to be under renovation, with a complete wing out of service. Hopefully ...

Pan American
Advantages: Good Prices, Lovely Staff, Good Location Disadvantages: None
I have stayed at this hotel twice and have just returned from my latest stay.
--Cost--
The cost is generally alot lower than other hotels which are in Manhattan. We just paid £500 for a 5 night stay there in a room with 2 double beds for 4 people.
--Location--
The hotel is situated on Queens Blvd in Queens. This is around 20/30 mins ride from JFK and around 30 mins into Manhattan. There are quite a few shops and restaurants close to the hotel ... ...15 minute walk on the same road is Queens Mall where there are loads of shops including a Macys and JC Penneys.
The subway station is around a 10 minute walk in the same direction. Buses stop directly outside the hotel.
Its a pretty quiet neighbourhood and i always felt safe in the day and night.
--The Hotel--
Although not new the hotel is in good shape.
The reception is pretty roomy with a god few chairs for people who want to sit. There is ...
