Walking on Ice!!!
Review of Franz Josef Glacier by LIZKEMPO

Advantages: Great opportunity!
Disadvantages: Tired!

...can find two Ice Glaciers Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier, these are both a site to be seen. These Glaciers are the most accessible in the world so when visiting you would be crazy to miss the chance to get up close and personal. On the way to the Glaciers stop off and see Lake Matheson often called the 'Mirror Lake' it really is amazing to see the snow capped mountains reflected in the shiny waters. Glacier Hikes: One of the best ways to explore ...
...this is not the most exciting prospect for some but if I can do then so can you, different options are available and you can chose between a half day or full day experience. I opted for the half day hike, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to do it but I got talked into it by friends and I am so glad that they did. The half day is 4 and a half hours and the cost includes all of the equipment you require. You chose either the morning or afternoon ... Read review

Ready Steady Jump!!!
Review of Sky Dive, New Zealand by LIZKEMPO

Advantages: Great thing to do once in a lifetime!!
Disadvantages: Costs alot!!

...I have always thought about Sky Diving. I had only been in New Zealand for a couple of weeks when I entered a karaoke competition in the Bay of Islands, I am pleased to say that I won and the prize was a 241 Sky Dive!! Well with this fantastic offer how could I not give it a go!! The price of a Sky Dive normally starts from $200 for 6,000ft drop, $245 for a 9,000ft drop or $295 for a 12,000ft drop. As I was getting it half price I decided to go with ...
...place in New Zealand to Sky Dive is Lake Taupo where a 12,000ft jump will cost you just $219. The Sky Dive: Before the Sky Dive you are given a jump suite to wear, not the most attractive thing in the world but hey it has to be done! You are also given goggles to wear as well, it is best to wear casual clothes underneath and trainers. The Sky Dive is a Tandem jump you are strapped to the instructor, this is a very up close and personal thing so ... Read review

Smells of eggs, but it's worth it!!
Review of Rotorua, New Zealand by LIZKEMPO

Advantages: Great unique place to see!
Disadvantages: Smella of eggs!!

Roturua in the North Island of New Zealand is well worth a visit, full of many wonders from thermal lakes, mud pools, geysers and for the adventurous among you white water rafting and Zorbing. Be warned however with all the thermal activity comes a pungent smell of egg! Not the most pleasant thing to wake up to into the morning but you kind of get used to it after a while, not sure if that is a good or bad thing! The only downside to Rotorua I can ...
...out, you can take buses to the main activities but this cost $10 a ride, myself and a friend decided to hire a car for the day and this was brilliant as it meant we could see a lot more and at our own pace. Hiring a car cost about $70 for the day between us. Accommodation in Rotorua is plentiful, we stayed in a backpackers hostel as we where on a budget but they have a varied range available. A must see in Rotorua is the Thermal Wonderland, a world ... Read review

Such A Stunning Place
Review of Queenstown by stampcoverman

Advantages: Mountains, Lakes and plenty of Outdoor Activity
Disadvantages: None

...I visited Queenstown without even realising that it was known as one of the worlds main outdoor activity centres. Personally, I didn't go there for a 'bungy' jump or 'fly by wire' or 'skydive' or any of the other adrenalin pumping temptations. It is simply a beautiful stunning place, sitting at the end of the enormous Lake Wakitupu (takes about an hour to drive along to the other end). With 'The Remakables' spectacular mountain range sitting to one ...
...so much to do if you want to. We had a fantastic meal in a local Thai Restaurant, found it to be plentiful and cheap. The airport is a couple of miles away and makes Queenstown and the surrounding area a definite place to stay when you visit South Island. ... Read review

The Taieri Gorge Railway, Dunedin, New Zealand
Review of The Taeri Gorge Railway by wanlan

Advantages: a unique experience
Disadvantages: none

...Either way a trip on the Taieri Gorge Railway could be for you. We were blessed with a day of brilliant sunshine, which showed off the magnificent scenery to best effect. The area of Otago through which the railway was cut, following the line of the Taieri river valley, has a rugged natural beauty, and the range of colours -with the early flowers, varied shades of green of the grass, trees, and shrubs, and the ever present yellow of the gorse covering ...
...mountainous and beautiful parts of the world ( I have in mind Wales and Scotland) the 60 Km of track is all that remains of a much longer line, in this case what was the Central Otago Railway. It is maintained and run by a dedicated volunteer group (Otago Excursion Train Trust), though, unlike many other lines worldwide, considerable support has been forthcoming both from the public and the forward looking and farseeing Dunedin City Council , which ...
