Bamburgh is a small village situated in rural Northumberland on the North Sea Situated about half way between Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick Bamburgh is 42 miles from Newcastle. Bamburgh has one of the most beautiful beaches in the u.k. It is a favourite destination for my family and somewhere we visit regularly.
How to get there.
I am not going to go into great detail giving you directions as these can be obtained via the AA route finder. However ... ...turn of at Adderstone. Take the scenic B1341 into Bamburgh.
It is possible to get to Bamburgh by train. The nearest station is at Chathill. There is also a bus service to Bamburgh from both Alnwick and Berwick.
What is there to do and see?

Water fun whatever the weather!
Advantages: Fun for all the family, good slides, Disadvantages: Expensive, needs maintenence
Wet ‘n’ Wild is located in North Shields and is the UK’s largest water park. It is located 1 mile from the north side entrance/exit of the Tyne Tunnel on the A187 North Shields road. It is located directly opposite Royal Quays Shopping Outlet.
The Water Park
When you first go inside Wet n Wild you need to pay your entrance fee. You can hire a locker for 30p plus a £2 refundable deposit. The lockers are quite large and can easily be shared ... ...until you’ve paid and entrance is through a turnstile. Once inside, you can see the swimming area and slides and you need to go downstairs to the changing area. The changing area is a unisex area with cubicles to get changed in. The cubicles on the end of each row are slightly larger and it says these can be used for family changing. There are a large number lockers so it’s worth trying to remember where abouts your locker is so you don’t spend ages ...

Better than expected!
Advantages: Chance to boo people you hate, good value for money Disadvantages: A lot like the tv show, some parts were a bit boring
...had booked tickets to see Dancing on Ice live, don't get me wrong I love watching people parading around in lycra as much as the next man, but it's not really my sort of thing. Seeing it as an opportunity to miss school and go on a shopping trip, I was easily swayed towards this show. Dancing on ice has, for a third year running, captivated tv audiences, often pulling in over 10million viewers in this country alone. Gold medal winners Torvill and ... ...pass on their wisdom to an assortment of singers, sports stars, actors and presenters in this winning formula of a tv show. It was only natural that a live show would follow to give the viewers a chance to see these legends skate.
Arriving at the venue (we saw the show at Nottingham ice arena), we were bombarded by people selling programmes and other memorabilia, such as DVDs and tee shirts. I'm not usually into this overpriced paraphernalia, but ...

Gibside
Advantages: Lovely day out Disadvantages: Some areas difficult for disabled visitors
...the walled Garden Green House, Gibside Hall and The Stables (these stables incorporate meeting rooms, anm can accommodate school visits). Continue along the walk and you arrive at the Column to Liberty which is a long column, and quite an unexpected "find". One of the things I like is that you can take a football to Gibside, and have a kick around without being told to get off the grass. If you follow all the walks, there is a large pond, lily ponds, ... ...of information. As an aside, Gibside is part of the Northern Kites project, trying to introduce the birds back to Britain, so there are lots of people at hand ready to talk to you about birds!
ENTRANCE PRICES AND OPENING HOURS
Times vary depending on the time of the year; these are the summer times... Grounds 10am-6pm, Chapel 11am-4.30pm, Tea room and shop 11am-5pm, Stables 11am-4.30pm. It's probably worth checking out opening times and time of ...

Look at the birds!

...the well known naturalist John Hancock died in 1890, the museum was named after him.
**Where is it**
The museum is located in the city centre, between Barras Bridge and Claremont Road and is close to the university, and Eldon Square shopping center, as well as Northumberland- right at the heart of things.

By far the easiest way is to get the Metro to Haymarket, ... ...suggested in the packs.
The Hancock Museum has lecture and conference room which can be hired at various costs for meetings, seminars and evening functions.
Toilets are located on the ground floor at each side of the foyer- clean and functional with a toilet for disabled people.
Shop is at the foyer selling the usual museum "stuff"- we had to get a dinosaur and this tube which makes a noise when moved Disabled access to the museum is via a very ...
