Having lived in Newcastle for over thirty years before I moved to London I feel I am somewhat qualified to give a review on this wonderful city.
Firstly if you are unsure of where Newcastle is then here is a brief guide; it is on the Northeast coast of England roughly 90 miles south of the Scottish border.

Below is a brief history of Newcastle itself.

Newcastle was founded in the first century by the Roman emperor Hadrian whose wall is still visible in many parts of the city. A historically important industrial area that found most of it's wealth through the export of coal to the rest of the United Kingdom it quickly became one of the richest cities in the north of England.

Travel is also very easy as the International airport is only 8 mils outside the city centre, also the main railway station is on one of the main stations on the east coast mainline that links London with Scotland.

Newcastle is on of the most fanatical football supporting cities in England with over 51000 fans attending the hoe games.
If you are into museums and art galleries then Newcastle has it all to offer with the recently refurbished Baltic flour mills art gallery a very popular attraction for locals and visitors alike.

Newcastle also has the most vibrant night life of any city that I have ever been to, with the main attraction being the Bigg market in the centre of Newcastle that has pubs, clubs and restaurants that cater for all tastes.

All in all no matter what you prefer to do on holiday whether it be visit historical monuments take in the local culture or just want to party, Newcastle has it all.

In my opinion you will not find a friendlier, more helpful and welcoming bunch of people in the whole of the United Kingdom
