Newcastle in general

OK, I live in Newcastle so obviously I'm slightly biased, but having been on many weekends to other so-called "party cities" then I can say for sure - Newcastle is the best!! The shopping is fantastic, whether you're in the centre on Northumberland Street, in Gateshead at the MetroCentre or in the many side streets of Newcastle in the vintage shops. Take your pick of transport - by air, train, bus, car, metro - the list is endless! The sightseeing is fantastic, with loads of attractions. Newcastle's hotels are all really central and well-presented, and the nightlife speaks for itself. I know no other city in the UK where you can walk between all the major night time attractions like you can in Newcastle; start off at Central Station with a few in the lively North bar, Apartment, Perdu or Revolution, then either head down to the Quayside, the Bigg Market or the Gate! What more can you ask for?
