Wow! I have just returned from a Stag Do in Newcastle at the weekend. We had an awesome time and it was in no small part to what this city has to offer.

We stayed at a hotel in the Quayside. I would recommend this rather than the city centre. The centre is fine but Quayside is far more picturesque. We stayed literally yards for the Tyne Bridge which is in the picture. Pure class.

There are loads of bars and we were fortunate enough to have a guided tour on the Friday. My Geordie mate from Uni came out with us and took us to some really good places. You know when you go out there maybe at least one bar where there is a bit of an atmosphere. You know its edgy. Not here. The Scene was full of hen and stag parties but the locals embrace this rather than hate it making for a genuine good atmosphere.

Honestly I have never known such friendly people. There is not a hint of arrogance or preteniousness. You know the sort of people who spank £150 notes on a night out and look like a character from the apprentice. However they haven't got a pot to wee in. In Newcastle it is full of genuine people out for a laugh. I felt totally safe in the place. When was the last time you heared anything serious in the news about Newcastle?

To give you an idea of what the people are like we got the Stag dressed in a borat costume. You know his famous Mankini. We took him out in it during the day. Now sometimes Jo public my have seen this as being a bit over the top. Drunken yobs intruding on other people. Not here. Literally everybody out shopping or going about daily lives were in bits laughing. We had Chefs coming out of pubs to take a photos with Borat. We had women from local cafe banging on the windows and laughing. It went down a treat. I can think of few cities in this country were it would have gone down like a lead balloon. Thank you Newcastle.

We went Go Karting on the Saturday which was about 5 minutes from Quayside which is good if your planning a Stag weekend and its a really good track which is well run.

The woman are like something I have never known before. All I would like to say on that front is thank you. It needs to be experienced to be believed I would hope the women would say the same thing about us after our visit lol.

Ive been out in Dublin, Amsterdam, LA, London, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Glasgow, San Francisco, Rome, Berlin, Stockholm, Liverpool, Manchester, and Paris. None of these citys compare with Newcastle. The best city I have ever been to? You bet. The only think I can compare it to is ibiza. Newcastle really deserves 10 stars not 5. The most amazing city on the planet.

Summary: The most amazing city in the world

Hi welcome Ciao. Interesting to read about your own city from point of view of visitor. Persoanlly, i hate what the stag parties have done to my town. I hate walking through town on a Sunday morning through piles of vomit and the stench of urine in shop doorways. And i wouldn't dream of a Saturday night out in the city centre.

Yes, a good stab at this. If you want to improve the ratings I would advise taking a step backwards... not literally on the Quayside because that is dangerous.. but from the bars/clubs to give a bit of geography, history and more generic information about this city. In answer to your question "When was the last time you heared anything serious in the news about Newcastle?" - well... I live up here... it's not utopia... how about the murder of two Chinese students. One thing you might want to add in here.. if you decide to improve the review... prices... for a night out... I tend to find you have to be selective if you want to find a pint for under £3... compared to Spain it may end up more expensive for a stag night.. not sure...lol. If you do add to the review let me know.. can always re-rate.. otherwise.. welcome to Ciao.
