I recently had the pleasure of playing 9 holes at the fairly new Newport golf complex. The cost of playing here is very reasonable six pounds for 9 holes or eight pounds for 18 holes. This kind of fee makes playing golf accesable to all members of the public. As we tee-ed off at the 1st (292 par 4) I was very suprised at the quality of the fairways, considering it is a pay-as-you-play course they were very good, as too were the greens. It does have one or two challenges though, the 170 yard par 3 ninth hole with water guarding the front edge of the green for example. Overall a thouroughly enjoyable golf course for beginner and seasoned campaigners alike!
