TRAVEL
There are many ways to get to Newquay, but we chose to drive from London, so we had the car to get around in on holiday. There is an airport which takes domestic flights and I'm sure I saw the National Express come through the town more than once or twice! We drove from London, it was an erm... ... ...The last 30 miles to Newquay itself took 2.5hrs!!! So take a magazine and some snacks as on a Saturday when holiday makers are changing over its a nightmare!!!! My best tip will be to leave in the middle of the night!!!
ACCOMODATION
There are loads of hotels, hostels, lodges, BnBs, Caravan sites and campsites in the area, however early booking is needed for all places to avoid disappointment and sleeping in the car!!! We booked in February and ...

Advantages: Great place for youngsters to visit Disadvantages: Can get too busy in the summer for the locals
I live just outside Newquay and have been there about 9 years now. Newquay has grown much more busy over the years. When i first moved here it used to be packed in the summer but dead in the winter. Loads of the shops closed up etc. which was annoying. But now it is much busier all year round.
Nightlife - can be good but it depends what music etc. you're into. I'm sure the tourists love it but for the locals it can be a bit tiresome. There's quite ... ...music and fun summer tunes. Can get a bit cheesy but good fun if you're on holiday. There's also a R n' B and hip hop room where you can chill out. There's an upstairs as well which can be a bit quieter if you need a break from the music. There are quite a few bars in the place and lots of seating. The queues can be rather big though to get in there in the summer. It also has a pub joined onto it where you can go first. The pub is quite big, has ...

Advantages: In the summer it's surf city Disadvantages: Hen and Stag hell.
I went to Newquay for the surf festival in 2003 with five of my mates.
We stayed in Smugglers Haven campsite and 18 - 30s campsite just outside Newquay town. It took us 9 hours to actually get down there from the midlands, normally it would take about 3 or four but we had to detour a lot of traffic heading down there. Newquay is packed in the summer.
On arriving at our muddy caravan park we were greeted by a few quite friendly shouts from various ... ...campsite and other campsites around Newquay into the town, this bus runs all day and late into the night. This is the golden snitch if your in a packed taxi queue at midnight and you see this bus run for it, it is only £1.50 for a single whereas taxies in Newquay can vary £10-£20.
Once you get into town it is packed with Hen parties and stag nights. There’s a sea of slogan t-shirts with things like SLAG 1 written on the back the worst slogan I saw ...

Advantages: great nightlife, there is always something to do Disadvantages: the weather is abit unpredictable
...7of my friends went to newquay august 2004 and it was such a good holiday, we are plannig to go back again this year. The hotel we stayed at was called the golant and was located on mount wise, so it is right near to the town, great as you dont have far to walk to go out at night, but i would say it is a little too far from fistral beach, bout 15min walk! The hotel was a good place to stay for young people as the owners were nice, there is a hotel ... ...We went to newquay in Au7gust and the weather was abit unpredicatble we had 3days of sun and the other days were cloudy one day we had a rain storm, bit the weather everywhere in UK was abit unpredictable this year.
However no matter what the weather is like this is always something to do. There are a fair amount of shops in Newquay and lovly places to eat, There is a cafe that sell the most gorgous food, it is next to the red square bar, called ...

Lonely Planet strikes again! Starting a university degree in London I wanted to make sure I got to see all the sites and had all the fun I possibly could while studying. As one does on such occasions, I bought the lonely planet guide. Tremendously useful more
