Advantages: Fun holiday resort with exceptional Waterfalls
Disadvantages: Can get extremely busy in summer months

Pulling into the Marriott Courtyard Hotel with its European architecture my heart began to race as I gazed across the rear car park and saw the Skylon Tower with the mist rising behind it situated on the slight incline behind the hotel. Advantages: breathtaking falls
Disadvantages: Clifton Hill area

...Niagara Falls is one of the most awe-inspiring sights that I have ever seen. Before you can see the falls you can hear the thunder of the water cascading over the edge. We were there in June 2000 and found the place to be one of contrasts. The Niagara Parkway which runs alongside the Falls and on north to Niagara on the Lake is undoubtedly one of the nicest stretches of road that I have ever travelled along. The area immediately next to the Falls is quite scenic with well manicured gardens and floral displays but only one block west at the Clifton Hill area you have what can only be described as tourist trash- a combination of hideous neon displays advertising Ripley’s’ believe it or not’ and Madame Tussauds etc - it is totally out of sync with the raw, natural beauty of the Falls and surrounding area to the north... Advantages: Cheap and cheerful accommodation and food if you look for it
Disadvantages: long flight and Japanese tourists

...Heading down the Queen Elizabeth Highway from Toronto to Niagara Falls the first indication you get is the sound of the falls. If you have never physically been close to Niagara the sound hits you before the sight. Driving down you start to get a glimpse of the American Rainbow falls. WOW. This awesome sight is truly breathtaking till you round the corner and see the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Nothing can prepare you for this. Okay you have read about them, seen them on television or in files but the sheer size and volume takes your breath away. Wander around keeping away from the wet ground if you do not want sprayed. Join the throngs of tourists leaning over taking photo after photo. But take time to visit the parks and other attractions on offer.
