I found that some of Singapores attractions were a little expensive, and if you want to spend a night out of the bars, then the night safari is a good option.
Its different from anything else I have done before. You can pay to go to the safari and walk around or pay extra and go on a guided tour on a tram. I would definately recommend paying the extra. You are taken around by an informative guide and see the animals in a much different way to the usual safari park experience. The park isn't that big, but you can get off the tram at certain points and take a closer look at some of the animals. They also have a bat enclosure that you can walk into (although you have to be a little careful of droppings), and you can see flying squirrels jumping around above your head.
It is a totally different experience from normal, as alot of animals hunt at night and are naturally awake and in action at this time. I'm not sure what time the park opens, but it shuts at midnight, so you want to get there by 11ish so you can have the full tour and time to get off the tram at every stop.
I also found the staff to be very helpful with all our questions and offered to take us around the park even after it had shut as we were late arriving.
Like any other safari park there is a souviner shop where things are slightly overpriced, but thats the same everywhere.
The main downfall that I found is that it is quite hard to get to by bus from the city centre, as you have to change and its quite confusing. However if you want to get home by taxi they are waiting outside until after the park shuts to take you home. I would also have liked to see a few more unusual animals, but have already recommended it to quite a few other travellers.

Review of Night Safari, Singapore
Advantages: Perfect for a unique cultural immersion and a wild food-attack. Excellent transport system means getting to anywhere is a breeze. Disadvantages: Hot (at least 30C everyday). Also, there is no natural scenery to speak of.
