...watching or gazing up at the luxurious, pink Hotel Negresco. The view of the beach and Promenade has been made famous by artists such as Dufy but don't expect a sandy beach - it is entirely pebble. This is OK but if you want sand you will need to go to San Tropez or another nearby town.
The nightlife in Nice is pretty good, but expensive. The Cours Saleya is the main focus us the nightlife where bars such as the Trois Diables and Zoom line the streets and don't close until the last people leave. In the Summer time they are very busy and you will meet other friendly tourists from all over the world (I met Mexicans, Italians, Danes and other British visitors). The nightlife is not so busy out of the high season. When I visited in April 2000 there were not many in the bars but they were at least open! Another good thing is that the Cours Saleya...

...So you have come to Norwich looking for some nightlife, hey? Well the hub of the city nightlife seems to have moved over recent years from the TombLand area to the Prince of wales road/Riverside Area. The main reason is the redevelopment of the Riverside road area next to the railway station which now has a number of clubs and bars within easy reach of each other. Look out for Time, Chicagos and a number of well known names! Travel away from thisarea for a quieter yet lively encounter with locals....

Advantages: Superb nightlife, friendly relaxed atmosphere, great people Disadvantages: Some people may find it a little too lively
...I have been to Ayia Napa (in the South West of Cyprus) for the past 2 years running now, and I am still thirsty for more. A testament to the popularity that Ayia Napa is gaining with the younger population as the Nightlife capital of Europe can be found in the sheer difficulties faced when trying to obtain a holiday there in high-season.
Like many other resorts in Cyprus, Ayia Napa is blessed with beautiful beaches, friendly people, lots to do, and of course, superb weather. Where Ayia Napa comes into it's own, however, is at night, when the younger generations come out to play.
Mainly centred on the Main Square (awash with people, bars, and music), the Nightlife amplifies outwards to streets filled with more bars, and clubs catering for every style and taste in music.
The older people, or parents, depending how you look at it...
