I went on a Nile Cruise with Thomson. It was a five star boat part of the Presidential line called the Nile Commodore.
In the brochure the details included all excusions which were packed into the 7 days, I thought oh yea dragged around from tomb to tomb but it was booked so off we went.
We arrived to a wonderful friendly greeting. Thomson had a rep on board who came everywhere with us and was always around to help. Not a pretty young thing with fluttering eyelashes but a more mature young woman who was well respected by all the crew.
The boat was fantastic wood panelling everywhere and whenever you say members of the crew they greeted you warmly.
Our 2 cabin boys met us and introduced themselves and evry morning and night we went in to a spotless room with the beds made in the morning or turned down at night.
4 Egyptian guides travelled with us and we divided into groups of about 30 people and stayed with our guide.
The week was magical far from being rushed around our guides knew what we needed or wanted to see and we never flet we had been hurried.
The food was fantastic ...the only people who had problems were the ones who persisted in only eating salad and fruit. All the food was magnificant.
Every evening there was plenty to do wether you wanted to join in or not.
The only regret I had was that we hadnt stayed longer and yet knowing there was more to see made it nice because we HAVE to go back to finish off.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
To be critical I would say that the walk along the river front was fraught with all manner of children and adults begging you to buy but they were all polite and pleasent.
The temperature was more chilly than anything at night and warm during the day. We did most of our trips in the morning and lazed by the bar or on deck as were cruised during th afternnoon
The cost was approx £450 each and well worth it
