I unfortunately had the joy of spending 5 night at a cost of £500 in this dump. The warning signs started when we pulled into the car park. The hotel looks run down and dirty from the outside, with one side of the car park that appears to be an abandoned building site??? or they have demolished something and not cleaned up. We were sent to find our room, after being given a key with a key fob the size of the sun (honestly, i couldn't get it in my pocket) We got into the room and were faced with a room that looked like something out of 'that seventies show' but it appeared clean and after the travel i was glad of a rest. The bathroom was clean and looked like it had been replaced in the last year or 2, so was the best part of the room. The view over the sea was nice, until the wind started to blow and we found that the double glazing was fitted by Texas Pete and his mates, and we could feel the wind blasting in. Next thing, with the wind coming in the polystyrene celing tiles started lifting and crashing back down. Time to speak to the staff, but as the hotel was fully booked due to an event being staged at the hotel, the attitude was im sorry but there is nothing we can do (not their fault at all, and all the staff we spoke to were very nice) The breakfast that was included was average, and if your into a greasy spoon its right up your street.
We were placed on the fith floor, and luckily the lifts were working the first day, but after that they became very unrelaible(no good for disabled people).
I can honestly say I would have been annoyed if i had payed half of what I did, but at the rip off rate I payed I was fuming. So I decided to do a little research and look for the people that own the hotel, however there website has disappeared and the company branding is virtually impossible to find on the norbreck website. I honestly feel the only reason this hotel is still there, is the massive events it stages, in its conference facilities, and people will pay for the convenience. Will I go back.............I'd like to say no.....but......if the event goes back there I may, but at least I will know what to expect this time, and will certainly not book any extra days like i did this time.

Couldn't agree more! We won a night in this hotel a couple of years ago. The smell in the corridors was awful, the room was tatty (although clean), the bathroom had exposed wires in the ceiling and the restaurant reminded me of a 70's holiday I had at Butlins! I'll stick to The Imerial thanks - now that IS a luxury hotel at Blackpool! Susan

Not worth going to then. I think about 20 year ago it had quite a good name but things have obviously changed. £100 a night sounds an awful lot of money. Wendy
