I found my stay at this hotel very pleasant. The hotel was about 10 minutes away from Blackpool Tower, so it was out of the way of most hustle and bustle.

When we arrived we were quite surprised as to how big it was, and there was plenty of parking spaces available. We arrived a little early than was specified, but we just went and sat down in the bar, the bartender was very pleasant, although the drinks were a little more expensive than usual. The bar had some nice views of the sea, and also you could view the pool from the bar area. The seats and tables were a little tatty, cigarette burns in a few places and dirt, but still usable.

When we went to check in there was a queue, which went down quite quickly as there were 3 people on the desk. The person who dealt with us was also very pleasant, and was very helpful when we asked about when the trams run, how much a taxi would cost, any shops near.

The rooms were easy to find, and there was lift for less able people. A key card was used to enter the room. We were expecting the worst when we entered the rooms, from reviews we had read, but when we got in the rooms, were nice. They were very clean, apart from the outside of the windows, to which we found out would be impossible to clean because of the height and the fact that the windows do not open fully, this was also a problem, as it got extremely hot in the rooms, and it was very warm outside too, it would have been nicer in colder conditions. The beds were made and were clean when stripped back, the carpets and all furniture were clean. There was a TV in the room, with BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky One, and Sky News, and several radio stations, a hairdryer and a bible. There was also a kettle and a supply of coffee, tea, milk and sugar, which were replaced when the rooms were cleaned.
The bathroom was clean also, but looked a little worn out, but still usable, and we were supplied with clean towels every day, and we were given enough soap, shower gel, and toilet roll, to last us our stay.
The only disappointing thing about our room was the view, which was of the back of the hotel, and you could see the air conditioning units and rubbish out the back. Another person in our group only had one window, which was blocked by the pipe from the air conditioning.

We later went to bar and then into the entertainment room, which was quite large. There was a singer on, who was okay, not the best. The entertainment room was a bit out of date, with the colour scheme and the streamers hanging from the ceiling.

After, we took a walk around the hotel, and found two arcade rooms, and there were several conference rooms, and an over 18's bar, called Copper Face Jacks. There were plenty of spaces to sit quietly, and many people had their laptops, as there was internet access.

Throughout the night you could hear people upstairs and downstairs, and when the toilet was flushed next door, it was quite loud in our room, but seen as they were asleep about the same time as us, this was not a problem.

Breakfast was very good; there was a buffet, and a large selection. There was a full breakfast, cereal, fruit, fruit juice, and someone coming round giving you tea and coffee. There were plenty of tables to, and the dining room was quite grand, you could also sit in the bar area, where you could look out to the sea.

We took a drive into Blackpool quite early, to avoid all the people, and to get a car space easy. Then we went back to the hotel, and went for a walk down by the sea, which was just over the road from the hotel. There were not many people about, and it was rather quiet, apart from the noise of the sea. I was hoping to walk along the beach, but even though it was only 2 pm, the sea was in.
Unfortunately I never got time to try out the pool facilities, but other guest told me it was nice and warm in there, and very clean, I could also see it was a good size pool and there was a Jacuzzi.

Overall I had a good stay at the Norbreck Caste Hotel, the rooms were clean, the staff was pleasant, there were good facilities, it was not far from the beach and it was excellent value for money.
