OK so this is my first opinion in a long time so if I just pull out my rusty old keyboard, put on my thick skin and get my thinking-cap on, then I'll begin.

I started working as an employee at the Hilton about a week ago (which I'm quite surprised at seeing I threw up all over their front porch after one or five too many pints at their Christmas party three months before) so maybe I have more of an insight than you may normally get.

I've never stayed at the Hotel so I can't really comment on rooms (if that's what you want to know I suggest you read MelNorthernLine's excellent op) but I work in Banqueting as a waiter so I can comment on the food, the décor, and the friendliness of staff (especially the young new waiter who works in Banqueting, he's very courtious and polite) and I have a fair understanding of the prices.

The Hilton Bradford is a modern Hotel with all the facilities one would expect in such an establishment.

The reception area is currently being renovated (there was nothing up with it before) so God (and maybe Mr Hilton of Hilton Group plc) only knows what it's going to look like, but judging by the current, makeshift reception it's going to be done out very luxuriously (is that a word?) and will be very comfortable. Therefore first impressions of the Hotel at present may not be very good, but if I go off what it was like before it should attract the more upmarket people (so why am I posting it on Ciao?) to the hotel. The rooms are about £45 a night (don't quote me on that) max and from the photo's on the web look extremely comfortable. You can also benefit from a number of savings opportunities such as the Hilton HHonors programme, where you earn "points" each time you stay in a Hilton Hotel participating in the Hilton HHonors program, redeemable against staying in Hilton Hotels participating in the Hilton HHonors programme.

The Hilton Bradford also caters for banqueting parties. This costs a bomb yet is basically the five-star service. To put it simply, people can book the Hilton Bradford Conferernce/Function Suites (Bronté, Charlotte or Bronté and Charlotte) for parties, conferences, dinners or banquets, or anything else that tickles their fancy. They then come and have the party, conference, dinner, banquet or whatever else tickles their fancy on the date they have booked where their dinner is served (often five-course) and they can eat it, then get on with the party, conference, dinnerm banquet or whatever else tickles thier fancy. All of this is done in Silver Service (it's harder than it looks!) . I'm not sure how much this costs, however, but it isn't cheap!

Hilton Bradford does not have a swimming pool, but there are many nearby, the best of which being Richard Dunn's, at the top of Manchester Road (out the front entrance, take a left, left at Jacobs Well and up) but others also being available.

The food at the Hilton is second-to-none (due to the large cost to the customer) and you will struggle to find better food anywhere, the only problem with this is that it is set menus (ie choose chicken beef or vegetarian, etc) which some people will not like.

You will find the staff courtious, polite and helpful, especially if you find yourself in the banqueting suite :).

Well, what more can I say.

Til the next time people.

Norfolk Gardens (Hilton) Hotel (Bradford) - review by MelNorthernLine

Advantages: Very centrally located, & very modern.
Disadvantages: Small portions on the meals & quite pricy, although not really majorly overpriced for a Hilton.
