Advantages: Next to Gardermoen airport, good service Disadvantages: The first plane in the morning will wake you up
...When we booked our holiday to a cabin Norway I made a fundamental error and miscalculated the time it would take to get from Oslo Gardemeon airport to the fjord area of Norway. With a distance of 293km (182 miles) I thought that we could easily cover the distance in under 3 hours. The route given to me by Multimap three days before we departed gave me a shock as it quoted over 5 hours. As we were landing at 6.30pm I did a quick mental calculation and realised I could be knocking on the cabin owners door the wrong side of midnight, that is if I ever found it in the dark! The solution was a one night stay in a hotel near to the airport. Expedia came up with the goods on this hotel with a cost of £92.37 (1,150 NOK, that is Norwegian Krone) for the one night stay. Advantages: Position, great staff, facilities, access, communications. Disadvantages: Can't think fo one right now.
...are excellent since you don't have to negotiate all the airport roads before you reach the main roads.
The GREAT thing about this hotel is that it's not that close to the airport. Have you ever had a room in a hotel near an airport and discovered your room's at the end of a runway at 0600hrs when the first flights pump their engines against your windows? I have.

Getting There
-----------------
Oslo is situated in southern Norway, at a latitude of almost 60 degrees N. If you have the time and the money, you can reach Oslo via one of the 100 or so cruise ships that stop here every summer, but otherwise the simplest way is via direct flight to one of Oslo’s two airports – Gardermoen to the north of the city, takes 40 minutes into the capital, or Torp, served by Ryanair takes 1hr 40 minutes via the airport bus links. The cost of the bus trip from Torp to central Oslo, is 230 Kr per person, or around £20 return.
Getting Around

Oslo can...
