Advantages: Excellent dollar rate, laid back city Disadvantages: Spent too much shopping and did not get to see the famous New England Fall trees!
...– you will get a bargain or 2!
Boston is a beautiful city – and l would say l like the feel and the people more so that that of NYC. I would say as our break was predominantly made up of shopping, l would like to go back – at the end of summer to watch the world famous trees change colour and perhaps take trip out to Martha’s Vineyard or Cape Cod to experience that true New England flavour. But as a short break to a city l can thoroughly recommend it and for all you shopaholics out there – you will not be disappointed l can guarantee!
For this trip we used the DK Top 10 Boston Guide book and a pop up Boston street map – available from www.amazon.co.uk

Advantages: Extremely efficient front desk, ideal location for power shopping and sightseeing Disadvantages: No ghosts, a/c leaked, staying at Marriott can lead to telephone solicitation later

The Prudential Center connected the Marriott...

The 'Freedom Trail' wiggles through central Boston, linking 16 colonial and revolutionary sights. The trail officially begins at the Visitors Information Booth in Tremont Street on Boston Common and runs all the way to Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown and is about 2 ½ miles long - although it appears much longer as you are not walking in a straight line but zig zag from one place to the next, up and down, and even crossing the Charlestown Bridge to get to the last few sites in Charlestown. The sites are 'connected' by the order in which they are 'appear' and not chronologically. This makes it easy for visitors to tackle the trail in any which way they like, start at the beginning, the end or somewhere in the middle and take in as much as the trail as wanted.
I have been to Boston three times and by now have managed to walk the trail at least...

I like reading short stories, well, I *kind of* like reading short stories. I guess I have to be in the mood, and they have to be rather long short stories if you know what I mean, so that I at least have time to care about the characters before the... more
