If you think about the main English seaside resorts then the chances are that they will have a pier. There is something very quintessentially English about seaside piers and in Britain they are largely restricted to England, with a handful in Wales and none at all north of the border in Scotland.
Blackpool in the north west of England is unusual because it boasts three different piers. The North Pier, Central Pier and South Pier. As its name suggests The North Pier has the most northerly location of the three. It is also the oldest pier in the town and at 503 metres long it is also its longest pier.
Eugenius Birch was drafted in to design The North Pier. He had been responsible for the design of Britain's first seaside pier at Margate. This was his second pier project and following its success he would go on to design a further ...
The hotel was offering some special offers last month so me and my boyfriend decided to stay there for the weekend when visiting London. It has an ideal location. We went down by train and it's only about 15 minutes walk from Euston station, or a few bus stops away. We arrived early so we left our luggage and was told to get back after 2. The lobby is not huge but nicely decorated. There is an Egyptian sculpture next to the lift, kind of like a replica of those you see in museum, quite special.
Again I have to praise its location. It didnot take us long before we reached New Oxford street by foot. Bear in mind it was January when the sale was still going on-I could start my shopping straightaway. We got back after lunch and the room was ready. It's a double room with a king size bed. The room is quite spacious with a plasma TV ...

I know, I know, Blackpool is perceived as fish'n'chips, bucket and spades, amusement arcades, B&B's. What about something different?
Choice Hotels in Blackpool run 3 hotels - The Claremont (near the North Pier), the Talk of The North (near South Pier) and the Cliffs Hotel (North Promenade just up from Gynn Square).
My family and I have stayed at the Cliffs Hotel on 6 occasions, ranging from weekend breaks to full weeks. Why? The hotel is large and well appointed - it has a 1920's feel about the facade and interior and is very clean and spacios. There are 5 bars and a large resturant. The food is excellent with a very good selection - the staff are very helpful and friendly.
There is a well appointed leisure club - free to residents. It has a pool, jacuzzi, small but very good gym, sauna, sunbeds and a leisure club bar. It ...

Manufacturer's product description
The Hotel is situated on the sea front along Blackpool’s famous Promenade over looking the Irish sea. We are a quiet hotel in a quiet area called Bispham, two miles north of the tower and a mile away from Cleveleys, adjacent to the start of the illuminations. Just across the road is Bispham tram station and round the corner on Red Bank road are local shops, Banks, and plenty of restaurants and cafe’s catering for most tastes in food and drink. And after eating out you could take a long walk along the prom and take in some of the spectacular sun sets at the end of the day.
