I flew for the first time with North West airlines in october 2000 from La to Honolulu and return.From this trip I was not impressed by this airline service or rather lack of it.

We had already been travelling 17 hours before we got to LA, so we where a bit upset to find the Honolulu flight delayed for 4 hours.We were told that there was a Aloha airlines flight that would connect us forward when we passed through imigration, which ment we would have to wait only 1 hour.However when we got to the gate we where told the North West aircraft would make up time and therefore we had to wait.....Not want you want to hear after a long flight.So we waited and waited.....and the aircraft turned up 5 hours late, plus an extra 50 minutes to refuel and change crew, adn a six hour flight ahead of us......never again...ive never been so knackered in my life.So I thought I would go to sleep on the plane..........no it was a DC10 and I had a window seat....DC10 are not a quiet aircraft to travel on......

On the way back they changed us a dollar each for the headphones....which aint a lot...but can they not collect them after the flight or built it into the cost of your ticket???Instead of hunting about for change....shame that I only had a 100 dollar bill, as Mcdonalds wouldnot accept it before travel so I used everything small I had....Was I not popular.....Did she give them to me for free......NO....She came back with 98 dollar bills!!!!!Only joking.

We arrived back into LA at 1 am in the morning, and fought our baggage to be damaged.So I asked this airport worker to report it, but was told to contact a NW member of staff.Could I find a sole ....no...So we went to the hotel and came back in the morning when we where collecting our hire car, to be told that I should have reported it last night and they could do nothing now.........B*lls

I found the food to be plain and cold, the staff to be unhelpful in flight and on the ground......Or did I just feel this way cos I aint American????
